After the sheriff refuses to cover up any further for the maniacs causing all the missing persons in the area, they're forced to hit the road in what's dubbed the "Pleasant Valley Traveling Road Show," where the maniacs head across country in hopes of gathering more victims. We'll follow a young TV crew called the "Road Rascals" as they find themselves mixed up with another one of the maniacs' deadly festivals.

PROJECT DETAILS
  • The film will have its North American premiere at the Texas Frightmare Film Festival on April 29th.
  • Originally titled 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys
  • Bill Moseley replaces Robert Englund as "Mayor Buckman".
  • Going straight-to-DVD via First Look Studios.
  • Writer/director Tim Sullivan suffered injuries during the Driftwood premiere in October '06, involving a few overzealous security guards, which haulted pre-production of this film.
  • Actor Bill Moseley also supplies some songs that we'll hear in the film, one of which is called "Dirty Sperm Rag".
  • Said to be the second installment in a planned trilogy, with the third being 2001 Maniacs: The Hellbillys Have Eyes, but that depends on DVD sales of this one.
  • Unlike the first film Raw Nerve will not be involved with the production.
  • The film will follow the same formula that made the previous film so entertaining.
  • The obvious sequel to 2001 Maniacs.

This isn't even horror its GORE. There is a difference. The first one was just sex and gore. I personally didn't like it and will not see this one but to those that do good luck.

I've been excited about this movie since it was first announced shortly after the first was a hit on DVD. The more and more I see of this one though, I just don't know. And know I see that LionsGate isn't he distributor for this and instead First Look is. That has me worried since LionsGate would want to keep the franchise under it's banner if they felt it was a film worth distributing.

Does anyone know the story behind LionsGate not distributing the sequel?

I dont think he is getting old, and the new movie kicked so much ass! My pal Ainslii and I nearly wet ourselves (with fear and laughing) watching that in the cinema.

Robert Englund is 63 years old and not to sound mean or insult anyone but that is old and what you think is wrong Stare

Holy Fucking AssCrackers! Didn't you get your right to an opinion revoked? ESPECIALLY in the vein of calling ANYBODY wrong for ANY reason EVER!? Plenty of actors don't leave the title of "Great" and make the jump to PHENOMINAL until they've hit their later years! Now before you get verbally buried... AGAIN... be quiet you poncey little poof. And JUST to shut you up once and for all.
Sean Connery didn't retire until he was 78.
Michael Caine is 79 AND STILL ACTING.
George Burns died at 100 and NEVER retired.
Martin Sheen is 70 and still THE MAN
Dick Van Dyke is 84 and still acting too.
John fuckin Cleese is 70!
Jerry Stiller is f'in 83!

Now would you PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE
SHUT THE FUCK UP.

He is an older actor, but he still does movies. I think they could bring him back to the franchise. I hear the new one sucked ass, especially how the ending was the almost the same as Freddy VS Jason.

No Robert Sad that sucks. As for Bill Mosley replacing him...ehhh it could work, but Robert developed Mayor Buckman and it's just hard to see Mosley play it.
