• Announced several years ago, it appears that this project is no longer happening. Most likely the producers couldn't find the right script to work with.
• The last update on this project was in 2007 when a brief tidbit in a Variety article revealed that Guillermo del Toro joined as producer.
• Apparently more than four scripts have been turned down.
• Focus Features was going to release this.
• Original producer Joel B. Michaels was also developing this.
• When Peter Medak was rumored to be returning to direct, he expressed his disinterest in the use of CGI-effects for the ghost(s) as he feels having the impression a spirit is there is more effective than actually seeing it.
• Original director Peter Medak was once rumored to be helming this remake.
• No relation to director Clint Eastwood's film starring Angelina Jolie.
• This is a remake of the 1980 Peter Medak horror film with the same name.
