PROJECT DETAILS
The film reportedly received a very silent and limited theatrical showing in California on March 17th 2011, where it apparently only opened to one theater (!?) and for one night only.
Orinally subtitled The Dweller.
Went under reshoots to flesh out a prologue with more "creepy kiddos".
Apparently, much like with the unnecessary Hellraiser sequel, Dimension Films was forced to move forward with this sequel in order to keep the rights to a proposed Children of the Corn remake, which is also in development.
Character Breakdown: TIM - Handsome, mid 20s, a leading man with a hint of weakness. He is newly married with a baby on the way. He is a good guy and he means well. He is just not going to be able to win this fight.
Character Breakdown: ALLIE - mid 20s. Lovely, newly married and in the first trimester of her first pregnancy. She is not afraid of controversy, and a strong willed woman. She will fight for what is right when necessary. She is just not used to losing the fight...
Character Breakdown: HELEN - mid 20s – 30. A beautiful, Russian/Eastern-European woman with a serious bag of secrets. Helen is a very sexual character and there will be frontal nudity required to play this role.
Character Breakdown: PREACHER – late 50s. Creepy. He is a powerful man and filled with religious zealotry. Is he able to save this young couple before the evil envelops them, or is he the truly evil one?
Character Breakdown: LITTLE BOY – 3-6 yrs old. Caucasian. This boy needs to look SCARY to the audience, and the young actor should have the ability to wear makeup and a wig for long periods of time. He should have very pale skin and large eyes. He is odd, haunted, skinny, maligned, scary, stringy haired, not sure what but there is a certain haunted, quiet SOMETHING about him. This character speaks no lines, and this is a role that is considered a featured extra role.
Character Breakdown: PRITCHETT – A local tow truck driver. Folksy, with a quick charm, but with a surprisingly worldly intelligence. The ability to speak Russian would be a definite plus.
Kelen Coleman and Tim Rock play the couple who "fall under the thrall of [Billy] Drago and [Barbara] Nedejakova's characters - and their 'Corn' kid."
Though not confirmed, one can safely assume it's going straight to DVD, especially with Joel Soisson attached.
Writer/director Joel Soisson is no stranger to straight-to-DVD efforts (or sequels), having written the Prophecy and Dracula 2000 sequels and also recently directing the Pulse DVD follow-ups.
No relation to the 2009 SyFy Channel remake.
A sequel to the never-ending Children of the Corn franchise.
Ok well I just watched this and um....... well lets just say its not the worst thing I've ever seen but its not that good either though. Oh and um Fright were's the remakes page I can't seem to find it anymore on here?
OK I'm sure i'll never hear the end of for posting this comment but owell anyways is anyone other than me tired of all of these damn additions to this series? i mean they took a classic like the first one and just completely killed it with like 20 sequels. i mean ok the second one was considered good the third was ok but after that its like WTF? how many times can you keep remaking killer kids in a corn field i mean really now

Caught this earlier on Netflix. As expected, it's pretty bad. Not even gonna bother reviewing it. Let this be my review -- it sucks.

Seems like it would be good. I'll check it out.
Is this a sequal to one of the remakes or to the other Children of the Corn movies?
I believe it's a sequel to the original films, not the recent remake.
Do you know if this is a theatrical release or straight to dvd?
Though it's not official, it's pretty safe to say it'll go straight-to-DVD, much like a lot of other sequels to old horror franchises.
Good I didn't like the recent remake. I hope the other remake turns out better.
