Cult of Chucky

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic “tool” to facilitate his patients’ group sessions — an all-too-familiar “Good Guy” doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all.

Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child’s Play, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

PROJECT DETAILS
  • Filmed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
  • Jennifer Tilly spoke about her role in the film recently, though it shouldn't come as a surprise to fans of the series, saying: "I play Tiffany, and I’m sure you don’t follow it but a few years ago, I played myself and Tiffany went into my body — Jennifer Tilly, international movie star — and Tiffany the doll, Tiffany's soul went into Jennifer. So in this movie, I may be Tiffany or I may be Jennifer Tilly. We don’t know. But they introduce me as Jennifer Tilly, but I’m very Tiffany-esque. I kill people. It’s really fun. The Chucky fans and horror film fans will really love that." She went on to say how she's confident that she'll continue to be in each new movie, saying: "I'm super-good friends with the director. I think he’s going to put me in every Chucky movie until the end of time, and I honestly feel like there are going to be Chucky movies until the end of time because at the end of every movie he dies and comes back to life again." (6/7/17)
  • Actress Fiona Dourif is back as "Nica Pierce," who was the crippled lead from the last movie.
  • Actress Jennifer Tilly returns as "Tiffany."
  • Actor Alex Vincent returns as "Andy Barclay," who was the boy from the first two movies (played by a different actor in the third). Fans may remember that his character made a brief cameo appearance at the end of Curse of Chucky.
  • Brad Dourif will once again voice Chucky.
  • Don Mancini returns to write and direct. Mancini has written all of the films, but has only directed the last two sequels. This will be his third.
  • The film takes place after the events of Curse of Chucky.
