PROJECT DETAILS
- In a recent interview David Cronenberg revealed that FOX apparently passed on the script he wrote, so it looks like this won't be made anytime soon, unless they find a new writer and script that they want to move forward with. (11/21/11)
- Apparently David Cronenberg's script was said to be more of a sequel than a remake.
- David Cronenberg, who directed the 1986 remake returns to write and possibly direct.
- When Todd Lincoln was still attached to the project, it was said that the fly in the remake would actually fly this time.
- Todd Lincoln (Hack/Slash) was originally slated to write and direct back in 2003.
- A second remake of the original 1958 film.

HEADLINES
A few episodes from Johnny Bravo cartoon are based on horror movies. This for example, when johnny's head will get the chest of a fly and hes body the head of a fly.And there are some Twilight Zone related episodes as well.
It will be amazing to see what Cronenberg can do with a modern vision of this "classic".
Is this project still alive because I keep seeing articles about new David Cronenberg projects but no mention of this. The 1986 film is quite possibly one of the most gruelling cinematic experiences ever, so it will have to go some to equal it.
I hope they can make this movie even GROSSER than the original - if not, I don't think I'll be watching it.
i spoke to david cronemberg about this remake. he said it was going to be basically the same movie he already did, but shot from the point of view of the poor fly. innocent victim of insane humanity.
he's also wondering about a spinoff where main character is geena davis' bellbutton
Although i am not a lover of Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis acting this film seemed a perfect slot for the two of them.
I liked this film and cant see a remake making much of a dent to the original.......
I'd like to see Cronenberg return to the origional script, rather than remake his remake, actually remake the origional again...
This is typical stupid Hollywood bullshit. Rehash a movie that was a good remake of a movie, but there isn't a script on it yet or even have any info on what MIGHT happened. I am getting so fucking sick of Hollywood rehashing movies that worked the first time. With so many ideas floating around, Hollywood can't take a chance on something new?!?!
I'm going to start reading books more now.
I know they could do a lot with this with the special effects but they shouldn't be remaking it. Hollywood needs to come up with some new and original ideas.
Why mess with a classic???? seriously we know the stories already and if somethings different in the story it just ruins it!
well atleast we know it wont be raped by cgi and itll have anamatronics
At least Cronenberg might be directing... so I have more hope for this re-remake than I did at first.
Although Im thrilled that a remake is actually gonna be done by its original director and not someone who who butcher the concept. And I know from 1986 special effects are amazing and unbelievable. No one and I mean no one could bring the character of the Scientist to life like Jeff Goldblum did, he truly does make you feel and sympathize. Gina Davis and Jeff Goldblum had a connection which made this movie. If you really disagree watch the end of the fly right now and tell me that can be remade. Some movies are just classics and should be left that way.
yeah its pretty pathetic. they re re re remaking NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. someone needs to make a new law that states ur only limited to one remake per at lest 50 years of one franchise.
Lol thier remaking "remakes" now ha interesting...
