No official plot yet, but it will likely take place sometime after the events of the first film.

PROJECT DETAILS
- Fuller briefly explained the current situation with the project, saying "There's just no movement on it right now. Paramount and New Line are simply evaluating if they're going to make it and that's what's happening." (4/26/10)
- Producer Brad Fuller confirmed that the last script involved Camp Crystal Lake re-opening to the public and Jason would indeed be in a snow setting for a portion of the film.
- Despite interest from the producers to pursue a sequel, it seems that it wasn't enough move the project forward, as Platinum Dune's Brad Fuller was recently quoted saying that it's now "dead" and "not happening".
- It's rumored that the film may be in 3D.
- Originally aimed for an August 13th 2010 theatrical release.
- Derek Mears returns as Jason Voorhees.
- There's talk that there may be a segment in the film where Jason is pitted in the snow. It would be fun to see a scene where he's again among the log cabins and rattan garden furniture of a camp creating havoc.
- The producers are aiming to feature some more unique kills.
- Writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift return.
- Platinum Dunes and New Line are once again teaming for this.
- It's said that director Marcus Nispel has expressed no interest in returning for the sequel.
- Though not confirmed, it's unlikely that actors Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti will return.
- It's said that this sequel will not take any cues from previous F13 sequels and will offer a completely new storyline.
- The obvious sequel to the Friday the 13th remake.

Although I wasn't very impressed with the remake. All it was, was gore, nudity, cursing, and drugs. But, I will give the second one a fair shot.
Another Friday The 13th and we still have no update on this, I wish they would just get going with this.

I agree with your rating system. However, I would make the 1st remake a *. It wasn't really that good & I got more entertainment out of the non-horror parts of the movie.
If youre going to rip on Rob Zombie, at least know why you are doing so. every one of his films are based off of serial killers. this tends to work because nobody really reads anymore to notice it. His Michael Myers is a spitting image of Murderer Edmund Kemper and the House/devil's rejects films had direct quotes stolen from the Manson Family. Halloween 2 is a combination of the original halloween 2, but is more influenced by the fourth film.I like the film for what it attempted, but I fear the Halloween 3D idea more so.
Firday the 13th wasnt a bad remake(nowhere near as bad as Nightmare was). Youre watching people get hacked up. If you were looking for some kind of trailblazing storyline,I hate to inform you, but you were mistaken for thinking it was possible.
Thing is, THIS ISNT WHAT SCARES PEOPLE ANYMORE. were so desensitized towards our fellow man that the thought of your neighbor being hacked to bits and you are next is only a thought when a news station is there to ask your opinion on it. Foreclosure is scary in this society. Not having your cell phone or internet access horrifies people.
...now, I don't like you- you attack randomly and normally make no sense- but I'll agree with you that the Friday the 13th reboot wasn't a bad flick at all, actually it was very entertaining and probably one of the best midnight screenings I've been to in the past 10 years. I'm also happy you pointed out that RZ, further, hasn't a single original bone in his body.
I do however, fully agree that being stripped of the technology that keeps us linked constantly to the outside world is the thing that scares this younger modern generation the most. Strip people of tweets, text messages, 911 on speed dial and status updates and they're in a whole new world of isolation they've never experienced and are far more vulnerable than generations who have come before them.
they can make all the Friday the 13th movies they want, but in the end it will just being the same old movie
agreed. I wasn't impressed by the most recent one. I've seen many of the Friday the 13th movies & the last 1 wasn't that good. Not looking forward to this 1 coming out
ok the texas chainsaw masscure remakes i think were nailed perfectly.. we will see about the 3d one coming next year.. halloween remake was eventful the 2nd dumb as shit the white horse i mean come on. the friday the 13th remake was good, but i think it was to quick, the deaths lacked creativity. so much could be done to bringthis horror classics back to life just need the right minds behind them
I have to say that Platinum Dunes is the only company to successfully kill off a great horror franchise. The fact that they hired Damian Shannon and Mark Swift to do the screen play for the remake of both Friday the 13th and Nightmare on elm street remakes, and both movies SUCKED....these guys can't write for sh*@ hence the reason they have yet to start doing a sequel for either series. It has been 3 years since the release of the "Friday the 13th" remake. Platinum Dunes please do the fans a favor and sell the franchise to Lionsgate so they can put some good writers on this and fix the horrible mistake of a remake that you all produced and get out of the horror movie business.
Anything with Rob Zombie is crap. AVOID this serial movie killer now and he may just go away. Far far away. In a cave. With a big rock infront of it. And all the un sold movies he has made as a barracade. Then bury the cave with the shit scripts and ideas he has had written or imagined, cover it in a pile of shit, then snow (Jason is looking for work I hear) and nuke it. Then post it live on youtube. I would watch that. And in 3D but nothing else this dick is ever for the rest of my natutal life,involved in. God. He even gives Zombie a bad name. Time to change the spelling to Zomby so then it doesnt come up on google.
I would say let Rob Zombie produce Friday 13 2. Lets see how he does it come on the halloween mivies he did was amazing he put Myers back on top maybe he can put Jason back on top unlike the original producer for the first remake.
Ok...I'm gonna admit that Zombie's remake for the FIRST Halloween was pretty good. GOOD. It was interesting and not really suspenseful because you knew what was coming, who was going to die, and how it would end (of course)....but the SECOND one....its fucking stupid. I'm sure everyone would agree. Now, before anyone says something...I said his remake for the FIRST one is GOOD....meaning its not awesome or whatever you want to call it. It was GOOD.

i was reading that friday the 13th part 2 is a go. also the are scripting another nightmare on elm street.
i extremely hope that when the economy bounces back up again that this movie is made it would be soooo F**KING WHICKED!!! to watch jason chopping up some more campers!!! or maybe the companies who currently own the rights will back down and let a dif movie industry make it, personally, i would want the hatchet army (i do believe is the name of this production crew) to make it, i watched hatchet 1 and 2, and i loved it, let them make friday the 13th part 2 (whether it be in 3-D or not), just make it a high budget movie like it should be, heck if possible let Kane Hodder return (which would be so amazingly awesome!!!!), however let this movie get made soon, i dont want it to be like the sequel to freddy vs jason, where they talked about it for awhile, then just bury the idea and not do it, i would be sooooooooooooooo mad if they did that again. but yeah hopefulloy this movie gets the green light really soon and lets get like a, at latest, a release date in 2012!!!!!!
