PROJECT DETAILS
  • Filming in Romania and Turkey.
  • Actor Johnny Whitworth plays the character "Blackout" and was quoted saying: "I'm not a very nice guy. I'm bad. I get turned into, for those who read 'Ghost Rider', the character Blackout. I get turned into him by the devil to complete my job. That gives me the fortitude to fight Ghost Rider and the supernatural abilities to compete on some level with that guy."
  • Said to be very different from the first film, even offering a brand new origin sequence.
  • Idris Elba plays "an alcoholic warrior monk tasked with finding Ghost Rider."
  • Johnny Whitworth plays "a criminal who is recruited by the devil to find the boy and is later turned into a demonic creature."
  • Actor Ciaran Hinds plays the Devil.
  • Will be in both 2D and 3D for its theatrical release.
  • Violante Placido is an Italian actress and singer.
  • Writer/directing duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have worked together on the Crank films, as well as Gamer.
  • The film will reportedly be aiming for a "hard PG-13".
  • David Goyer has been reported saying that this film will definitely be a lot more "realistic" (to an extent) and darker when comparing to the previous installment.
  • It's said that the script will be based on an early draft written years ago by David Goyer, which adapts to modern times and be set in Europe.
  • Eva Mendes will not be returning as "Roxanne Simpson".
  • Nicolas Cage will reprise his role as "Johnny Blaze".
  • Original writer/director Mark Steven Johnson is currently too busy to return to the project.
