PROJECT DETAILS
- Marcus Nispel (Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03, Friday the 13th '09) directs.
- Fredrik Bond was previously attached to direct.
- Stephen Susco (The Grudge, The Grudge 2) is the latest writer attached to pen the project for the big screen.
- It's said that they will stay true to the tone and style of the comic.
- Was once hoped to begin filming in Spring '07 when Todd Lincoln was still set to direct.
- Previous writer Todd Lincoln was attached to direct back in '06.
- Todd Lincoln wrote the original script with Martin Schenk, which was then passed to Ben Magid, before it reached the current writer Justin Marks.
- Comic-creator Seeley and artist Stefano Caselli will be close to the development process.
- Produced by Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter.
- Rogue Pictures owns the rights.
- Based on the Devil's Due comic.

....Marcus Nispel.... has made me genuinely excited in this project- the idea of a comedy-minded director made me incredibly nervous about how the transition from paper to film would pan out... but... holy fuck... Marcus Goddamn Nispel.

I have read the comics. Keep to the comics DO NOT GO TWILIGHT! Twilight sucks. This comic was made for adults not teens who like to see a love story involving rex the family dog and a flamboyant kid with dental problems.
NO! NO! NO! One source says the studio Relativity wants to turn Hack/Slash into a PG-13 film and transform the Cassie/Vlad relationship into a love story. One Relativity executive described it as Twilight meets Heathers... HELL NO!!! If they take that path with this movie, I wouldn't watch it if I was being paid too... It will be a disgrace to the comic and it's creators and a big disrespectful spit in the face to the fans of the comic.
Why in the hell do they need five writers for one screenplay? I want some opinions. Who should play Cassie Hack? Name three actresses. I'll pick Ellen Page, Danielle Harris or Megan Fox

You misread the info brother. It doesn't say Freddy is in this. It says "Jason/Freddy/Michael-esque slashers" with just means Cassie hunts "Slashers" similar to Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, so on and so forth... Killers with masks, supernatural psychos, killer clowns, demons, just far out stuff like that... Chucky was in one of the comic, but he's the only well known "Slasher" that I recall being in them. I agree with you 100% about making it into a series. It would make a kick ass trilogy.

Ok I haven't read the comic so I don't know much about this can someone tell me what the comic is about so I can know what to expect from this
This is one of my all time favorite comics. They need to hurry up with this. Been in development for way too long. Just for her look I can see Megan fox being Cassie Hack, but Cassie is the most important character to the story and Megan just doesnt have the acting chops to pull it off. This is not a decision to be taken lightly.
