PROJECT DETAILS
- The film has reportedly been taken away from the hands of director Jennifer Lynch, as she was quoted saying: "Hisss was taken away from me in the edit. I have no idea what the film looks like. I came close to a directors’ cut, which Mallika, Venus and producers (Govind Menon and Vikram Singh) referred to as ‘European, languid and sensual’, all the things I thought were compliments. Apparently, that did not make them happy. I have no idea what is out there. Good or bad, I cannot take credit for it. Aside from shots and performances that I pray have not been butchered... They took the songs out; they wanted more horror... My name is all over it (the film). I can do nothing. But I want to come back [to India]."
- Filmed simultaneously in English and Hindi.
- Filmed in India.
- This marks the first Bollywood creature feature made by an American director.
- This is an independent joint production between the US and India.
- Written and directed by David Lynch's daughter Jennifer Lynch (Boxing Helena, Surveillance).
- Described as a modern day retelling of the ancient tale of the ichhadahari nagin (snake woman).

Like father, like daughter. Awesome combination of practical and first class digital effects. Also, the movie seems to have an artistic feeling/vibe - very rare nowadays in horror movies (just look at that zoomed tree branch full with dew and the sexy way she climbs on the pillar (from the first trailer) . I have high hopes regarding the soundtrack for the movie, too. I simply love the song in the second half of the first trailer and the Oriental one in 'Trailer 2'.
My only complaint would be the pursuing of Nagin by a detective - played by Irrfan Khan - scene which involves the snake-woman's "spectacular" jumps...i just don't "buy" that part...
I am waiting for the release date!
The name is as bad as the 70's flick "Ssssss". I'm not convinced about Jennifer Lynch's directing yet. Surveillance was ok but I never had the feeling to watch it again. Boxing Helena just does not interest me. Looks to be pretty gory from the trailer. I really enjoy most of David Lynch's work so I do hope that his daughter can make her mark in filming too.
Can't be worse than the crap Hollywood has been spewing out. If done right, it might make for a decent movie. The snake woman looks freaky. So hopefully there will be more on the film in the coming weeks.
Am I the only one who thinks this sounds completely LAME?!
i actually smell syfy level of crappiness
