The story follows a town terrorized by a giant mutant squid-like creature hatched by toxins that flow into a nearby river from a military base. When the creature grabs a little girl, her dysfunctional family must band together to rescue her.

I hope that they keep the original story line in there somewhere.
The effects for the creature in the original were pretty good for not being a big budget film. It was a decent movie, though boring through some parts. Go ahead Hollywood, give it your best shot (well, try harder than that).
