The House That Jack Built

Follows the highly intelligent Jack (Matt Dillon) over a span of 12 years and introduces the murders that define Jack's development as a serial killer. We experience the story from Jack's point of view, while he postulates each murder is an artwork in itself. It's said that the story will follow the highly intelligent Jack over a span of 12 years and introduces the murders that define Jack’s development as a serial killer. We experience the story from Jack’s point of view, while he postulates each murder is an artwork in itself. As the inevitable police intervention is drawing nearer, he is taking greater and greater risks in his attempt to create the ultimate artwork.

Bruno Ganz will play "a mysterious figure named Verge, who engages Jack in a recurring conversation about his actions and thoughts."

One of the producers was quoted saying: "It will be a serial killer movie like you’ve never seen before. He wants to be able to change it between periods of shooting because when we’ll have done the body of the film in the Fall, he will then go edit it and he sees how he can combine the murders. He calls it the five incidents, which is the murder cases and then he has a lot of digressions in between to connect the story, in a similar way as in Nymphomaniac."

Written and directed by Lars von Trier (AntichristMelancholiaNymphomaniac).

This is an English-language film that's said to be a co-production between four countries: France, Germany, Sweden and Denmark.

It's said that the film will have a combination of American and European actors.

Budgeted at 8.7 million Euros.

This project was originally being developed as a television series, but eventually morphed into a film.
