This prequel is said to follow the final days of humanity in New York before a man-made virus caused a plague that left Will Smith’s character the lone survivor among a mutated mob in the city.

PROJECT DETAILS
- Will Smith revealed some potential plot details saying: "...it’s essentially the fall of the last city – the last stand of Manhattan. The movie would be…within the body of the movie D.C. and then Manhattan would fall as the last city. It’s a really cool idea trying to figure it out…there’s a reason why we have to take a small band and we have to get into D.C. So we have to make our way from New York to D.C. and then back to New York."
- This project is in the very early stages of development, however, it's likely to be put on the fast track since the studio is really looking to continue the franchise, as the previous film had an overall gross of more than $500-mil at the box office.
- Warner Bros. and Overbrook Entertainment will produce, with Warner Bros. once again distributing.
- D.B. Weiss is set to to write the script that's based on a detailed outline that was discussed over the past few months by Will Smith, Francis Lawrence and producers Akiva Goldsman and James Lassiter.
- Original director Francis Lawrence returns along-side star Will Smith.
- The obvious prequel to the hit 2007 film I Am Legend.

this sounds like it should be an excellent movie
could be good, but you know there wont be any grenade epicness in it
THIS MOVIE WAS SOO FUN TOO WATCH AND PLOT WAS SO WELL PLAYED OUT WILL SMITH PLAYED ROLE IN THIS MOVIE SO GREAT , SECOND PART I DONT C HOW WILL SMITH CAN RETURN IF IS ROLE DIED IN THE 1ST MOVIE DIED AT THE END MAYBE SECRET HOW HE SURVIVED I GUESS IT WAS SOO SAD LIL WHEN HID DOG DIED LOL TO BE LIL SOFT SIDE HERE
Thats why its called a Prequel bro this New movie is gonna tell what happen before everyone died and Will Smith's character became a sole surviver.I myself hate this idea but How it sounds Will Smith is getting to put his input in the movie so it maybe decent i dont expect it to be better than the 1st one
I loved the first one. Cant wait.
This was the first time I respected Will Smith as an actual actor so I am looking forward to another one.
Considering that he held the screen for basically the entire movie I would strongly agree.
