Revolves around writer Jennifer Hills, who takes a retreat from the city to a charming cabin in the woods to start on her next book. But Jennifer’s presence in the small town attracts the attention of a few morally deprived locals who set out one night to teach this city girl a lesson.
They break into her cabin to scare her. However, what starts out as terrifying acts of humiliation and intimidation, quickly and uncontrollably escalates into a night of physical abuse and torturous assault. But before they can kill her, Jennifer sacrifices her broken and beaten body to a raging river that washes her away.
As time passes, the men slowly stop searching for her body and try to go back to life as usual. But that isn’t about to happen. Against all odds, Jennifer Hills survived her ordeal. Now, with hell bent vengeance, Jennifer’s sole purpose is to turn the tables on these animals and to inflict upon them every horrifying and torturous moment they carried out on her... only much, much worse.
this is a very, very brutal movie. i fast forwarded thru some of the first part with the torture and rape of the girl. man does she get her revenge!! there's a few plot holes that if you really think about it could ruin the movie. like how she actually lift these guys up to do what she does. she's about 120 pounds and their all 200 or better. good movie, sweet revenge, 7 out of 10.
watched this last night and man this is unrelenting, in what they do to her and in turn what she does to them. i purchased it on special edition dvd unrated version. had to fast forward thru some of the rape and torture stuff because i'm just not into that, if you are i don't know what that says about you! but man was she a monster in the way she took her revenge! 7 out of ten for me, decent flick.
What a great movie. I picked up a bootlegged copy at a Haji shop here in Afghan, and that thing got passed around like a drunken slut at a high school party. Everyone here has watched it now and loved it. Great to see a badass chick take out some much needed revenge on some disgusting redneck rapist cocksuckers. Me and a few of my buddies watched it together, and were squirming thru most of the revenge kills. Haha. Sarah Butler is gorgeous and did a pretty official job on this one. Definitely has the opportunity to be a new horror flick princess. I definitely recommend this one to you fans here on UHM. Fuck what the critics say, this one is for the fans.
Hoorah Kill!
I really thought this movie was awesome for what it is....a revenge movie!
First off just have to say, critics who say this movie is despicable and go off on the rape scene, why even watch it? It explains RIGHT IN THE PLOT SUMMARY what the movie is about, it doesn't say it's a disney movie! That being said, the rape scene is tough to watch, but if you want to watch the good stuff, you can fast forward through the rape scenes.
I thought it was well acted, and well filmed. It doesn't have a b-movie feel to it, it feels like a quality flick. Sarah Butler is smokin hot and does a good job playing the main character, I felt terrible for her and really wanted the bad guys to get theirs, that's when you know the acting was convincing.
The revenge in this movie is SWEET!! I really like the time between the incident and the revenge. Shows the perps gradually getting more and more freaked, and makes for great anticipation as to what she's been doing and when she's going to exact her revenge. The girl character turns into one sadistic chick, and I don't think I have ever seen people subject to such torture as these perpetrators are in this movie, but trust me, what these guys do you WANT to see it!It makes movies like Hostel and Last House on the Left seem like a kids movie.
All in all, if you like revenge flicks, check this movie out! I felt like it was what Last House on the Left should have been. A balls out revenge flick with absolutely no holding back.

Roger Ebert called this film "despicable", and I believe he said the same thing about the original. There's no denying that this remake of the cult horror hit is quite despicable, but it's just a movie, and a very well made one at that. The film is split into two halves, the rape, and the revenge. The latter is entirely justified, and as it turns out... fairly entertaining. The first half accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do, it makes us hate these redneck rapist pieces of shit with a burning passion. The revenge portion is a routine exercise, but it's done creatively with messy sadistic glee. Sarah Butler isn't that great of an actress, but somehow what she does in this film works. At the outset She's clueless, clumsy, and maybe a little naive, in the aftermath she's cold, vacant, and focused. Her attacker's are all very good at being dreadful people, an important ingredient in a movie like this. The reboot of The Last House On The Left failed in this regard, it's villains all appeared to be trying just a little bit too hard to be nasty, it was unnatural, and didn't really flow right. I Spit On Your Grave has all of it's uncompromisingly tasteless ducks in a row. This version is more efficient than the original mostly because the writing is better, and it's events are more plausible. This time the bad guys make some attempt to clean up after their crime, whereas in the original they simply sauntered off and went back to town for some beers. On the other hand, we don't see any of Jennifer's recuperating process, or her plan of action, we just get hit with the torture. That was one aspect I liked about the original. In any case, I found this to be quite superior to it's source material, and one of the better (less unnecessary) remakes in recent years.

If this one is anything like the original it will be brutal. I havent seen the remake yet but the original is damn good and to the point. shit happens, then she gets her revenge, end lol. I felt bad for the girl because you could only imagine what she's going through.(numerous times) then when she starts her revenge you root for her of course. It looks like the remake has some different deaths but they look pretty awesome. I dont know if they can beat the bathtub scene or not though lol.

Hatchet 2 and this... both unrated FOR THEATERS... I swear... if they start bringing back the whole "we don't care about censoring" stuff like exploitation/grindhouse films to theaters... that would make every horror fan very happy, especially me. Plus... if they did... now that we have better effects,
Spoiler: Highlight to view
Screw CGI
we might be able to make some good original, pure horrifying... HORROR!
The original holds up even today as a graphic and disturbiing cult classic. She gets raped by 4 men then she takes her bloody revenge on them. One of them gets their dick cut off. I bet Lorena Bobbit loves this movie.

Just watched the original last week, wasn't a huge fan but hey I try to be open minded. Anyone see the remake recently? Thoughts on it? I read the wiki page and, like the original, Roper gave it negative reviews.

I had to google Sarah Butler. Now I remember her from Flu Bird Virus. I hope she can act better than that. (I'll give her a break, it was a SyFy movie). Quite pretty.

Well, this movie does need a remake. The original was good but could be a tons better. The original was a little hard to watch just based on the torture she puts them through BUT from what they put her through I would do the same.

This movie topped the original IMO they dimmed down the rape from the original and tortured the dudes that saw never did.

I recently saw the film, never got to see the original. It was very graphic, I enjoyed it. Revenge was the motive in this film and it gave the goods.

You better not ruin another cult classic for me, or so help me I'll cut your balls off and feed them to you...ya hear me Hollywood? >)
As long as they can film it in 3D, Hollywood won't mind.

Ah, a movie that does deserve a remake.
