HEADLINES
This film is not made for those of you who prefer jump scares and a fast-paced script. This is an atmospheric film intent on leaving you with a creepy feeling. Shot like a documentary, the story's about a girl who mysteriously dies and her ghost haunts her family for the following few months. Now when I say haunt, I don't mean that she tries to kill them; her image starts showing up in photos they take, video footage they have and the family wants to know why. Now the film itself has something that most horror films today are lacking; a well-written script. The story is a horror/mystery film because the family of the dead girl try to figure out why her image keeps appearing all over the house and discover along the way a few things about their daughter that they didn't know. So, in terms of character and story, it's really solid. Now the biggest flaw of the film is that it's not fast-paced and it might be easy to get bored while watching this. I'd give this movie a 7.75 out of 10.
Was a great film, but I used to live up in Ararat, so its like a history lesson in my old home town, pretty cool. All a true story, real scenery so people can actually watch a movie where everything they are watching is real and the actors are based on real people! If I could rate this out of 10 I'd say a 7 and a half great watch mainly for Aussies or people who wanna travel there, 99% of people who live up that way a whacked out weirdo's literally, about 10-15yrs ago there was a Mental asylum up there which closed down and they released all of the patients into society in Ararat and Ballarat!
"A US remake is already in the works."
HAHA This is an Australian made movie correct? Don't they speak English over there? Man Hollywood is just filled with a bunch of douchers.
Agreed.
Not only do i agree but check out [Rec] vs Quarantine... and The Orphanage, and several other crap-ton of movies Hollywood remade... god dammit america we need to be more creative (btw [Rec] (cant wait for [Rec]2) was amazing, and this looks great too)
