When local wildlife is brutally mauled and campers are reduced to carcasses, biologist Nathan Bickerman (Colin Ferguson) knows a voracious predator is on the loose. So does a feisty female hunting guide (Yancy Butler) out for her next trophy. As the body count rises, the local sheriff tries to keep things quiet and keep the tourists coming. But when the horrifying, hulking truth emerges, can anyone stop these cold blooded killers before they claim their next victim?
Being a fan of “horror” books, movies, comics etc. can be pretty disappointing. It’s an addiction! Maybe not for everyone but I’m an addict.
I watched ‘Lake Placid 3’ about 2 months ago—and was duly disappointed.
I’ll tell you the movies I liked and the ones that I didn’t so you be the judge of whether we have similar tastes.
Lake Placid 3=C- (not worth watching). They probably spent only a few hundred bucks on the CG and if you watch closely, you’ll notice that the same CG is often repeated. The story really sucks, not that I watch these movies for exceptional stories. I just want to get my craving fulfilled. But don’t expect to be fulfilled here. I’m debating if I should go lower than a C-. If you watch 10 minutes of this movie, you can do something else and switch off your DVD player. The rest of the movie will be pretty much the same as the first 10 minutes.
Night of the Demons=D. I didn’t even finish the whole movie so maybe I shouldn’t rate this but how can anyone continue after watching 10 to 15 minutes. You pretty much know it’s going to be bad.
Legion=B-. At least I was entertained although (spoiler!) couldn’t fathom why 2 angels would be fighting each other and neither one was Lucifer!
Cloverfield=B+. The shaky camera bit is a little distracting but some people like the effect. I prefer a non-shaky camera with more creature effects but, for me, this movie was enjoyable. Not that it matters but I also like the music as the credits roll. It’s a piece called “Roar.” Very nice.
30 Days of Night: Dark Days=A-. Actually I think most people would consider Cloverfield a better-made movie. I happen to like vampires and have read all the novels (rumors of the undead, the first novel, is the best one). Don’t expect a CG feast but it was pretty good. I was certainly entertained.
Predators=A. Saw it in a theatre and look forward to re-watching it on DVD soon.
The above are the last few horror movies I saw so I hope you have some idea of what I consider good or bad. Really, horror fans, do yourself a favor and skip this third trip to the lake.

First one was extremely well done for what it was, the second installment was absolute garbage. I'm really hoping this one is passable if for no other reason than I really like Colin Ferguson from Eureka. I'm guessing the character will be similar to Jack Carter since its the same channel, and that alone might make it a worthwhile watch.

A game warden moves his family to Lake Placid, once the site of deadly crocodile attacks. Locals assure him the crocs are gone, but his mischievous young son finds a few baby crocs and begins feeding them. They quickly grow into very big adults and start attacking the game warden's family and nearby town.
When SYFY makes movies usually the graphics are terrible so the movie then sucks. But this may just be my opinion but Lake Placid 2 didn't seem to suck as worst as their others, but that could be because I liked Lake Placid which wasn't made by SYFY
Every time I hear a movie is making it's debut on the sci-fi channel, it makes me laugh. Crazy bad effects that almost make blair witch look like a michael bay film...

Well if Jaws is remade there is room for improvement like from PG rating to R and add more blood. If they dare change that theme song I will be extremly pissed
I think that if they do remake Jaws, with the right script, and the right actors, and good graphics, it could possibly be an ok film. I however don't think that it needs to be rated R to be better. A PG-13 rating would do just fine. I mean, part of what made Jaws such an amazing film was what you didn't see. Jaws doesn't need to be gory, there don't need to be tits.
Thought the first film was a funny as hell with all the Action Comedy Horror the mix of Cast was awsome.
The second film was garbage
As for the third movie in the words of
Kelly Scott:
I will NOT calm down! This is the second time I've been hit with a severed head and I DON'T LIKE IT!
Eh sounds ok but thats only because i have a wide varity of horror\scary movie opinions and animals killing people is one of them. Soooooo yeah go giant killer crocs
I don't know about anybody else but "Croc" movies just don't do it for me, I thought Lake Placid was cheesy and the 2nd one lacked horror/monster/comedy status at all

I wonder if this could have the same kind of effect as with the little boy in the rats in Ben? Possible scenario - the little lonely kid's getting picked on lately by some bullies who've arrived at the lake for the summer. Whoops - here come the crocs to help out the kid who was kind to them...

Its a SyFy movie! So you KNOW its going to suck croc ass.
Unless it's Syfy's own DinoCroc. That fucker is badass.
That was a good movie and Lake Placid 2 wasn't bad either. Any movie they make with crocs or gators is usually good

And you do know they are remaking jaws, right?
http://media.gunaxin.com/tom-cruise-signs-on-for-jaws-remake/51783
Just throwing this out there, that was made on April 1st. I'm thinking it is probably bogus.
Wait what is bogus the tom cruise part, the jaws being remade part, or both?
Mostly the Tom Cruise. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually remade Jaws.
