Demeter expands upon the captain's log chapter of Bram Stoker's Dracula, in which a ship carried the vampire's coffin to England from Transylvania and arrived at port with no survivors aboard.

- Neil Marshall (The Descent) is now attached to direct.
- David Slade (30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) was in talks to direct.
- At one point Ben Kingsley was said to be attached, but that's apparently no longer true.
- Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) was said to be attached to play a "stowaway" onboard the ship, but she's apparently no longer involved.
- Austrian director Stefan Ruzowitzky's (The Counterfeiters) dropped out of directing to pursue another project.
- When Marcus Nispel was still attached as director, production was aimed to begin later in '09.
- Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03, Friday the 13th '09) was once attached to direct.
- FX master Patrick Tatopoulos (Godzilla, Underworld films) was once attached to direct.
- Robert Schwentke (Flightplan) was the first person attached to direct.
- Original screenplay by Bragi Schut.
- Phoenix Pictures and the producing team of Chris Bender and JC Spink will collaborate on this film.
- This project has been a part of the UHM database for over a decade now.
- The story was originally in Bram Stoker's DRACULA told in journal form by the captain of the Demeter as he notices things "getting weird" and sailors disappearing before he resorts to lashing himself to the wheel to make sure the boat makes it to port.

With Marshall on board this has the makings of a potentially awesome horror movie. The claustrophobic setting lends itself to His talents, count me excited!
Is this finally going to get made? I've been excited about this since I first read about it years ago.
Given the project's track record there's really no telling if it will get made.
Just saying... a bit off topic... I find it funny how the website updated a while ago... and you're still re-adding all the movies from the old site lol. Will The Pig People be re-added? Lol, had to ask.
