Mother's Day
| |
After a bank robbery gone wrong, three brothers head for home, hoping their MOTHER (Rebecca De Mornay) can provide them with a getaway. The youngest brother, JOHNNY (Matt O'Leary), has been shot and their back-stabbing former partner has gotten away with all the cash.
But when the brothers get home, they find that all their stuff is gone and Mother is nowhere to be found: she lost the house months ago in a foreclosure. The new owners, BETH and DANIEL SOHAPI (Jaime King and Frank Grillo) and their guests, gathered for an ill-timed birthday party, become the brothers' unwitting hostages.
Not long after, Mother arrives, along with the boys' sister LYDIA (Deborah Ann Woll), and it soon becomes clear that Mother will do absolutely anything to protect her children. In one terrifying evening, she brilliantly takes control of the situation and masterminds her sons' escape from the law.

Hmm, pree keen on this, doesnt look all that scary but scary enough to scare the little brother
<3
This doesn't look bad at all, but to be truthful, the only reason i'll see it is because I'll watch anything with Briana Evigan. I love how many great cast members there are.
all i can say is....i cant wait to see it!

Oh. My. Goodness.
One of the coolest B-movies from the golden age of the 80s...remade as something that resembles NOTHING of the original product? Really?
This is as much of a remake of MOTHER'S DAY as STAR TREK is a remake of STAR WARS.
That trailer doesn't convince me at all, but I WANNA F*CKING SEE IT, I've been waiting a lot and I just love Jaime King and Briana Evigan :P♥
That trailer just got me looking forward to this! I wish it was getting a wider release!
This mite completely suck... But Deborah Ann-Woll
I'll be seeing it.
Oh no, don't remake Mother's Day! How can you ever hope to capture the amazing cheesiness of the original????
Why in the hell would anyone want to capture the "amazing cheesiness" of anything? I think that's the whole point of many of these modern remakes of 70's and 80's horror films. Get rid of the dumb ass cheesiness and make a goddamn HORROR film... Piss on cheesey. I want to see raw, gritty and realistic...
"The cheesiness" is part of the charm.
And hell, let's not even get on that. Let's point out the fact that the original was about three girls, having a reunion get-together, being attacked and tortured by two insane man-children and their twisted mother in the isolation of the woods.
This "Remake" is another movie entirely!
Why call it a remake? It can simply be its own freakin' movie!
Ok maybe I am wrong but when you do a remake, shouldn't it be ummmm the same story line?? Granted the original Mother's Day was graphic, violent, and more than a little wrong but they should stop completely trashing the originals. But then again, it might be too much to ask for people to come up with original ideas these days.
aren't you contradicting your self.
you say you don't like that they changed from the original plot (putting their own ideas on this remake) then you say sarcastically "it might be too much to ask people to come up with original ideas these days"
they had to come up with their own idea so they don't copy the original and to water down the graphic violence of the original because sadly to get good reviews you cant be too graphic. I mean there are probably lots of amazing movies being made with the same sick twists as the original mothers day but you don't hear about them the people who made this wanted their movie to be 'mainstream' so a complete change had to be made.
but i do agree with the statement that Hollywood should stop the remakes.
For those who grew up watching Risky Business, Rebecca De Mornay's scenes were awesome!
She's a pretty good actress so I'm interested in this.
um... yeah...thats because its a remake. was Friday the 13th anything at all like the original? hmmm? no it wasn't. and hopefully unlike the Friday remake this will be good. i hope it keeps the gallows humor.
Ok so this is a remake of "Mothers Day" but according to the info it sounds nothing like the original???
Nobody can replace the original Ike and Adley.
this movie is the shit!it had me almost pissing myself in laughter the whole time. i love the red headed brother goofy ass war cry. and the scean where they have the role playing game is pure comic genius! i hope Queeny apears in this one.
PUNK SUCKS! DISCO'S STUPID!
Maybe this will be cool. Bousman is a decent director, and I really liked Repo! The Genetic Opera, so I'm looking forward to this. The original was fucking cool.
