Skye (Mcknight) prepares to leave for college in New York City in hopes of finally leaving her bloody past behind her. When she gets a ride with fellow freshman Sienna (Reed), they form an instant bond and Skye truly believes she could have a brighter future. But when Skye receives an unexpected call from her estranged little sister, Alex (Prout), she and Sienna decide to make a quick detour to Alex's house so Skye can say goodbye. Only when they arrive do they learn that it is the night of Alex's Sweet 16. As Skye knows, Sweet 16 parties tend to not go very well for these girls, and a night of terror begins again.

Predictable and safe. That's the only way to sum this film up. Holy crap, this movie was such a huge insult to the franchise. I don't know where to begin. First off, let me say I do not really expect too much from a movie called My Super Pycho Sweet 16. But there is a standard to making a fun film and making a cop out film. I wanted to see the next resurrection of Charlie Rotter. Not by him showing up necessarily. SPOILER ALERT!!! I liked the idea of killing the main villain off. But to have his replacement be some douchey 22 year old guy, with some paper mache mask that could have been concieved better by a 6 year old is kind of a let down. Also, Skye's sister as just a teen seeking revenge for her parents death is just.... Disappointing. It seemed a movie more in the concept of Scream than MSPS16. The only difference between this movie and Scream 4 is that the entire living cast showed up in Scream for the 4th film. In this film, only the protagonist and the "antagonist" (and I use the term extremely loosely) show up. Granted the love interest is in the very beginning and end of the film. Oh but that's just the main characters. There is still so much to talk about. I want to talk about the cast.

As I had stated before, the only returning characters to this film from previous installments was Skye and Alex. Brigg also makes 2 little cameos, but is basically just for a "here's what's happening in there relationship now" moment. Making this sequal as I had stated in the beginning of my little review, SAFE!!! As for the teens that are attening this years sweet 16 party, I could care less about any of them. The worst being this kid named Nico, who appearently adolizes The Situation from Jersey Shore. I get it, it's a MTV movie, Jersey Shore is an MTV show. They're making fun of themselves. It would have worked too if the kid could act at all, and they went extreme with it. Also all these kids were supposed to be Alex's friend right? Did any of the teens even talk to her? It more seemed they didn't know who she was or at least didn't like her. Making me care less about these characters than an ensign going to investigate a new planet with Spock, Kirk, and Bones on the original Star Trek.

The music is all personal choice, but I have to admit I think the pop punk, emo, goth music with a touch of rap, hip hop, rave music was better than this film strictly for the most part alternative music. But I wo't rant about this as music is a personal choice in taste. Although in my opinion the music didn't fit the background as well. That's out of my system.

Last I'll talk about the plot. All I'll say is it has to do with a guy running a mansion with an IPAD. Locking doors and viewing security cameras to know where the people at this party is so he can kill them.... Yeah, I think I can hear everyone say lame. How'd he get this IPAD with the ability to run Alex's house you say. Never really explained, but we can guess from the second antagonist, Alex. Was anyone surprised by this revelation by the way. Predictable!!!! Some questions I did have were why would she do this if this house has her "friends" in it, who knows. You could say that she invited only people she hated to the house to kill them, but why would she kill them? There was a reason she wanted to kill Skye. Just one of the many unanswered questions in this film. Just a quick side step, doesn't someone trapping people in a mansion in a wooded area seem more like a Scream plot than a MSPS16 plot, I think so. This franchise usually puts the characters in very populated areas. A roller skating rink, or a night club with 100's of people. Not 7 kids in a mansion in the woods. Anyways, you find out that the hitch hiker isn't realy a hitch hiker at all, but Alex's accomplice and boyfriend. Though it turns out he would rather be with Skye because he is obsessed with Charlie Rotter, and he would rather date the daughter who lived with him and experienced the murders. 2nd side note, in the film on the way to Alex's house, Skye and her friend Sienna get lost. When they pull over to check a map, the hitch hiker comes up and asks for a ride to town because his truck broke down. He knew where Alex lived so they make a deal, he help her get to Alex's mansion, and they'd drive him to town. Convenient he was there to help Skye find her way to Alex's house. Though you would think it was a little more than coincidense and more a work of fate, because it was't Skye's car. Skye doesn't have a car in this movie. So how did he know to ask for a ride in that car. Anyways, Alex kills her boyfriend with a scythe. Skye does manage to talk the hitch hiker into untying one of ropes around her hand before Alex does this however. So Skye gets free and runs into the woods. Alex winds up chasing her with the scythe. In the woods Skye sneaks up on Alex and kicks the scythe out of her hand where the two girls have an appearent kung fu fight. This is where they lost me. I won't ruin the end, but I probably should to keep anyone from watching this movie...

I liked these movies, and hopefully the 3rd will be great. But after this one, this series needs to die. Its starting to get a little crazy, and the story a little convoluted. Maybe keep the series going but find fresh people. This chick has to run out of people turning 16. Itd be sweet if they killed everyone off at the end. Go true 80's horror with it.

I have been following this film on Facebook since the day the sequel ended. I was there when they have posted the first few words from the script on there as well. I am literally obsessed with the My Super Psycho's! They are VERY entertaining! I saw both films they premiered on MTV and I was so surprised at how well they are! They return to the original classic style of horror! By using character development as a means of getting to you! Because as we all know that is the central force in "fear" which is: CHARACTER. I mean do you get scared when you see a Barbie's doll head getting ripped off? Uh...I sure as hell does not. I mean yeah these films aren't the most perfect things out there. But you know what? THEY ARE FUCKING TEN TIMES BETTER THAN HALF THE HORROR SHITTY FILMS YOU SEE IN THEATERS!! Paranormal Activity? Seriously? That should have ended a long time ago. The only reason I went to see the third one was because it took place in the era of VHS and CD Players!!! Not this modern day where people say "meta" and crap. Still was crap. But this is no time to rant.

This third one will rock. I have guessed that it would be Alex's turn for her Sweet 16 who in fact will secretly be the killer due who using her party as an excuse to get together with Skye. What I find the most interesting aspect through all this is that each film focuses on a different character perspective. First one, it is revolved around the spoiled rich teenage daughter who gets a nasty and very satisfactory demise. Part II's birthday loomed on the sweet 16 of the primary victim and daughter of the killer, Skye Rotter, who goes to find her mom who abandoned her when she was still a kid, who ends up learning some startling facts about her mother and family. Now, Part III will shed light on the Sweet 16 of a serial killer in disguise and the sister to the primary victim, who secretly blames Skye for the murders of all the ones she loved, and wishes nothing more than to see lose everything as well. THIS! WILL! BE! EPIC! I mean it's like the ultimate trickery and perfect villain! She can pretend to be sweet...but beneath is really F'n psycho! I really hope she adopts a type of serial killing costume that resembles Charlie's outfit.

Well anyways. I am excited. I love the music from the first two films. Can't wait for this. I am in a desperate for new songs for my itunes library.

Also, Jillian-Rose Reed will be Skye's new friend, Sienna. She is from the show Awkward. (Another big surprise from MTV!) So this is pretty sweet and she has recently said on the film:

"I promise there will be lots AND LOTS of SURPRISES!"

and my final question on this is: "TELL US PLEAS! WHAT SURPRISES JILL?! TELL ME!"
