Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich

Recently divorced and reeling, Edgar (Lennon) returns to his childhood home to regroup his life. When Edgar finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother’s room, he decides to sell the doll for some quick cash at a small-town convention celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. Girl-next-door Ashley (Pellicer) and his comic book shop boss, Markowitz (Franklin), join Edgar for the doomed road trip. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that’s motivated by an evil as old as time.

Filmed in Dallas, TX.

Barbara Crampton spoke about her role in the film recently and revealed some new details on the storyline, saying: "My character is a tour guide and an ex-police officer. I was part of the police crew that brought Andre Toulon down many years ago and then thirty years later, something is happening. There’s a convention and some puppets are going to be sold at this convention so a lot of people that bought puppets from Andre Toulon many years ago have come back to this first ever convention so all these people and all these puppets are brought together for the first time in a very long time and something happens. Obviously, I can’t say what happens but it’s very slyly written and there are a few different storylines going on and Craig has written a lot of really interesting characters that you care about so I’m really excited about that one too. It’s completely different [from the original franchise]. This movie has a lot of comedy in it and a lot of heart and drama as well." (5/26/17)

According to IMDB, genre vet Udo Kier will play "Andre Toulon."

Directed by Swedish duo Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund (Wither, We Are Monsters).

One of the producers was quoted saying: "We couldn’t be more excited to take the series in a new direction while embracing all the practical effects and terrifying insanity that fans of The Puppet Master films love."

It's reported that this will be a new take on the Puppet Master films, but will "maintain all of the brutally inventive puppet kills infused with the comedic tendencies that made the original franchise so popular with fans, while expanding upon Toulon’s backstory and developing richer dialogue, characters, and narratives."

It's said that the filmmakers intend to produce multiple storylines within this new Puppet Master universe and will expand the mythology.

Produced by Di Bonaventura Pictures (1408) and Caliber Media (Bone Tomahawk) and executive produced by Charles Band.

Written by S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk).

This is a remake of the classic 1989 Full Moon film.
