This was the film I wanted to see originally and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The story itself is nothing special: A group of young 20 somethins rent a boat to try and find some bar (I think), and they decide to pass through this field of reeds as a shortcut. Well, the shortcut turns out to be a bad idea because they get stuck and one by one, they start dying. Like I said, the story's nothing special; in fact, it's a little too cliché if you ask me. There are a number of plot-holes in the story, the character development wasn't really there and the acting was decent. Now while all of those elements are lacking, there were two elements that kept me from thinking this film is a disaster: the setting and the special effects. Like I said earlier, the characters start dying off one by one in some pretty gruesome ways; everything from impalements to burnings to shotguns to stabbings to explosions. And I actually like the idea of having people die in a large field of reeds, where you're stranded in this enormous field where something small and fierce could scurry through it and you wouldn't be able to see it. BTW, this film is actually a ghost story but with the setting, it would have made for a killer creature-feature. I give this film a 6 out of 10. It's worth a rent.

Sounds good, looks low grade, but these days thats normal for horror films, 70% d grade 29% c grade and well 1% B grade Hollywood are too busy with their blockbuster movies like avatar, and twilight sequels, they really cant be bothered with making a decent horror film, I mean they bring out 50 boring movies based on people 2/300 years ago so they are the films that fight out the oscar, I mean honestly if there are more people in western society who enjoy watching a movie with actors like Natalie Portman and Phillip Seymour Hoffman back in the 16/1700's in boring old England or France with a story which bores on for like 3hrs than watching a movie which is non stop action or skillful thriller like Saw or action like Die Hard 4 which both of them have some great actors?
