im not so sure this is going to work with the "teen friendly" approach, as even if it was upgraded to something like a DVD rather than VHS gives the whole story some background and history and being as DVD hasn't been out that long it would take that away from the movie and could make it less scary
Nathaniel Blackburn
Instead of a working VHS I think the ring tape should update to disc form
I'm seriously smelling disappointment here. Teen friendly?? That is bullshit.
ok iv been waiting for the the third ring for a long time
. but teen friendly??? oh god
.
man ive been waiting for the 3rd ring for ages.i LOVED the first one, but i thought that the 2nd one was average.but hey ive watched tonnes of horrors that were just lame as.so in saying that average isnt always to bad. I HATE the idea of it being in 3d. 3d movies aint that great and tbh i genrally go see 3d movies in 2d.
i reckon that with alot of hard work that the 3rd one would be awesome but i thing think itd have to be a prequel cos i think the current stories abit dead.plus video tapes aint really the norm any more
the frist one was ok all thoue i was in 8th grade when it came out so ya the 2ed one was shit o but this is gana be 3D im so sick of 3D movies
Holy crap. Part 2 should have never happened. The Ring was fantastic. The sequels are just ruining it.
it's going to be a goosebumps episode, only this time it's going to suck!
This is the worst idea I have ever heard.
This should never happen! The second one sucked and the first was mediocre at best. Why do they try to make franchises out of movies that suck? And in 3D...come on!
One word: Money
Why do this? The japanese have ni concept of horro whatsoever. the ring sucked so bad it amazes me that i finished watching it. That way further than where I got in the POS Napolean Dynamite!
I disagree! The horror genre these days and in the past is amazing when you go over to foreign films. All the shit that comes out in America right now is a regurgitated foreign flick(The Ring for example). America lacks on new and fresh ideas. American horror films are made for the love of money, not the love of the film itself. Don't get me wrong I am an American but we fall way way way short in the horror genre!
Hahahaha! Really. Another Ring movie... and its Teen friendly?!? In other words its going to be Twilighty; the girl coming out of the TV will be puppy cute and sparkling. And in 3D no less. Great
I thought this series was done after the horrible sequel?! The first was an ok remake well at least by Hollywood's standards, but compared to the original, it doesn't come close to the creepiness.
Besides, I thought horror movies WERE towards teens since most of them involved teens. Don't teens go see horror movies? But I guess teens' tasted changed over the past decade or so. But I think Hollywood is confusing the term "teen" with "tween", since nowadays most of the shit Hollywood is vomiting out is towards them anyways.
P.S. 3D is a gimmick. If it sucks in standard form, its going to suck even more in 3D. (CLASH OF THE TITANS any one?
)
This may be the dumbest thing I've heard all day. A.) RING doesn't need another "remake" or whatever. If you're going to make a third film to the series then just make a third film.
B.) 3-D is crap. We're going backwards to when films were nothing but spectacle. If I want to see 3-D I'll go to an amusement park.
C.) Teen friendly?.....barf.
Dear Hollywood. Please think up your own ideas instead of continuing to remake everything.
Love, Anthony
While the idea of seeing a scene like the 'emergence from the screen' scene in 3D is really cool, the obvious question is:
Why does The Ring need 're-inventing'? Is that code for a remake? That will make this the 4th version of 'Ringu' in less than 15 years. Isn't there room to continue the story along the same track it was on with Ring and The Ring Two? Watching Ring Two, did anyone else get the strange feeling that that there's something supernatural about Aidan as well?
And as for making it more teen friendly, um, what was teen UN-friendly about the first two?. Weren't they popular with fans of all ages? (Well, not ALL ages as in 6 year-olds and such, but you know what I mean...)
I don't mean to be all negative, and I'm not jumping on the 'all remakes suck' bandwagon, but it just looks like they plan to fix what isn't broken. Too early to say for sure, and I wish them luck with this, just....sometimes you don't need to change everything around just for the sake of changing everything. You can keep going with the pre-established route and still have room to add new elements in.
OMFG!!!
SAMARA IN 3D!!! IT WILL FREAK MY F***ING NERVES OFF MAN!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS!!!
