- Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II - IV) was reportedly attached to direct in '07, but has since left to pursue other projects.
- Lion's Gate will distribute.
- Originally set for an October 17th '08 theatrical release.
- Production was originally set to begin in early '08.
- Written by David S. Goyer (Blade, Dark City).
- One of the original rights holders, Pierre David, revealed the idea of the remake came out of the development of a TV series version of the story.
- Produced by Pierre David, René Malo and Clark Peterson.
- This project was first announced back in '02.
- It is likely that David Cronenberg will not be involved with this film since he has expressed disinterest with the whole remake idea.
- This is a remake of the 1981 David Cronenberg film.

I just hope anyone who watches this if its remade has watched the original.
this was one of the best early films i have seen michael ironside in yet again a remake will just nosedive.
This film should be left to the masterpice it was......
