Shark Night 3D
| |
Arriving by boat at her family’s Louisiana lake island cabin, Sara (Sara Paxton) and her friends quickly strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when star football player Malik (Sinqua Walls) stumbles from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the party mood quickly evaporates. Assuming the injury was caused by a freak wake-boarding accident, the group realizes they have to get Malik to a hospital on the other side of the lake, and fast.
But as they set out in a tiny speedboat, the college friends discover the lake has been stocked with hundreds of massive, flesh-eating sharks! As they face one grisly death after another, Sara and the others struggle desperately to fend off the sharks, get help and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land.

PROJECT DETAILS
- Relativity Media will distribute the film theatrically in the US.
- Originally titled Shark Night 3D, which apparently nobody working with the film liked (including the director), so it went under Untitled 3D Shark Thriller for a while, where director David R. Ellis joked that it may end up being the actual title. They eventually just settled back with Shark Night 3D.
- Filmed in Louisiana.
- Joel David Moore is the comic relief as "a socially awkward guy who fancies himself a young Brad Pitt."
- Chris Carmack is "the ex-boyfriend of the female lead, still uncast, who was scarred in a boating accident."
- Sinqua Walls is playing a "Tulane University linebacker with plans on marrying his college sweetheart (Diaz)."
- Budgeted at $28 million.
- Co-writer Will Hayes served as writer for many episodes of VH1's Best Week Ever.
- Director David R. Ellis (The Final Destination, Snakes on a Plane) filmed with 3D cameras.

Straight to Syfy indeed. When is Hollywood going to stop making these movies!!!
If this was actually going to be rated "R," then I might have held out some hope that it would be a amusing if not-particularly-overwhelming way to spend two hours. But PG-13 horror movies are never scary, always lack the gore factor, have little if any true skin exposure, and are otherwise missing anything that you might look for in a horror film. I suspect that this movie should probably have been released straight to SyFy.
Ok lets be honest here what are the chances of an unrated DVD release?
ummm i'll be watching this.. hahahahaha
As horribly unoriginal as this sounds, I'ma go see it in hopes it turns out the way Pirahna 3D was (looked bad but ended up being good)
Hey didn't we see this film before? I think it was called JAWS! Stupid moron companies like this and all the little stupid writers can't remake that movie and then title it something else. Anyone involved in the making of this film should be banned from film FOREVER!
cellphone douche who cares what you say i was around when Jaws was in theaters you were not bite me
just because its a shark movie doesnt mean you should compare it with jaw, it has a different plot, smaller shark, and seems to follow the horror movie cliche of a group of teens
Yeah, definately, totally agree, this has nothing to do with Jaws, it's a totally different movie and it looks cool ♥
Thanks At least someone understands there IS a difference XD
It is so obvious, but I guess some people can't accept a new movie in the same genre, bad for them
♥
Chee I hope they don't make digital unrealistic computerised sharks like they did in Deep Blue sea.
Hellooooooooooo blue bikini
Well there goes the notion of ever seeing this movie
Goddamn it. PG-13 my balls.
this movie could be decent...it appears to have a nice little sub-plot going on(?)...but not with a pg13 rating. that would be ashame
WELL... it's not going to be the next Jaws. However, I think it's going to have the same effect as the new Piranha remake did. Adults in swimsuits = movie watchers.... I'm sure I'll own the dvd
That would be really awesome if it had the same effect as Piranha 3D, but it won't achieve that with a PG-13 rating. If the rumors turn out to be true that is. It's kinda hard for me to fathom the logic behind making a killer shark film with such a kid friendly rating, there is nothing PG-13 about a shark attack! Particularly since this is coming from the guy who directed Final Destination 2, which really upped the ante in terms of violence when you compare it to the first one. I'm hoping for the best, but am prepared for the worst.
This movie is fake and gay! That's all I have to say from the land of trolls lol
Lets all hope for an R-rating with no boobes, thats the best we can hope for.
Well the trailer doesn't look to bad
Nemo with teeth, the kids have grown up but not over 18 yet. fair enough rating then
At the very least they should consider changing the tag line, "terror runs deep" is about as original as the digital shark image they nabbed from Deep Blue Sea.
I saw Poster. That Great! But Shark baby or adult?
The poster is pretty cool but I'm still not sure about this
the shark apears to be the same mold as the one used in deep blue sea r at least done in the same way but maybe with out the cgi since the sharks could be just small to medium size. If they not going to show gore nudity and do cut away scenes when any kind of horror happans then why even bother, aaah wait they want more people to see it by bringing it down so kiddys can watch it, trouble is when they do they come on here and say it sucked balls
and makes all us horror fans craveing the nasty
(
I got your PG-13 rating right here (Hand on crotch)
PG-13?
Yep.....The production team has stated it will be a hard PG-13. Sara Paxton quotes, "Don't expect any Piranha 3D content.."
PG-13 Suck. No much blood and sex?
PG-13! I'm out
it looks like a deep blue sea but sequel ? Interesting. I will watch it. I love jaws! By the way, why women again ? No wonder sex is everywhere.. PERVERT and SICKO!
You are a sexist!

Im surprised you've just caught onto this braindead assclown now- every post he's made has been hating on chicks with his Borat-style linguistics...
We may not agree on many things but this is one we can.
I think borat needs to show us where on the doll "they" touched him to make him this way.
I saw new pic that Great. I can't wait!
Keep your mind open. We dont know what it is look like until trailer is up.
Sounds like another Jaws. Boring!
I'm glad the name is going to be changed as of the movie itself I'm not sure I'll probably decide after a trailer and/or some clips.
WTF? Lake? This look like movie called "Red Water" in fresh water shark.
red water was a good movie man
cheesy sharks! yay!!
I love sharks as much as the next person, but I'm getting a SciFi Ch. movie vibe here. Plus the 3D treatment usually means PG-13 for a "horror" movie.
(Hell, it shouldn't EVEN be considered a horror movie if its PG-13!)
But here's the deal maker for me: if the sharks are CGI-go fuck yourself. If the sharks are pratical FX, you got my interest.
Not all pg-13 horror movies suck, look at the monster squad, poltergeist. the original jaws was PG. All great movies not rated R, hell the original texas chainsaw massacre, tobe wanted it to be rated G
YES
i love shark movies
who doesnt
well to be honest a lot of people but there is the few out there that like these movies
. I personaly cant wait for the Jaws remake to come out
for me, as long as people get eaten alive, im down with it
>) >)
What did you think of Piranha 3D?
