An attractive young woman is kidnapped, held captive and forced to endure the evils of one of the most violent homicidal maniacs in the city's history. "The Toolbox Killer" aka TBK. It is by her will, strength and her faith that she must survive, the ordeal. Her escape is almost hopeless. Unfortunately her situation only worsens when outside supernatural forces become more difficult to contend with than TBK.

The original synopsis is as follows: "Following the events of the previous film, survivors Nell and Stephen continue their night of Hell as they're rushed to the nearby Hollywood Memorial hospital. Meanwhile, next-generation , tech-savvy CSI detectives Cole and Barnes coordinate with a hard-nosed, LAPD criminal profiler McGavin to exhume TBK's modern day tomb and uncover its origins, leading toward a shocking revelation involving old Hollywood's seedy underground and one doctor's secret past."

Remake director Tobe Hooper has no involvement with this film.
In the early development stages, Angela Bettis was hoped to return to reprise her role.
In the early stages of development, remake writers Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson (Night of the Demons remake) were going to return, but were replaced by FX artist Dean Jones.
The film is said to take place immediately after the events of the previous installment.
Began development in early 2008, but didn't begin production until March 2011.

im really hoping this is good. i have the first toolbox murders and I liked it alot, it had really inventive deaths and a good storyline.
