Heard the First Movie of Twilight was amazing something like a world hit in the theaters but I just got to be serious about the 2nd movie called "New Moon"..Now i hate the Twilight series but i gave the movie a chance and My fucking god the 2nd one was awful talking about if the girl wants to have sex with wolf boy or stay with her Vampire boyfriend..Now Im a huge Vampire genere fan..But the only good show or movies around about vampires is True Blood..so im gonna have to say im passing on this new movie
If there is any justice done to the genre then David Slade will bring some of the 30 Days Of Night concept to the story.
Unlikely to happen just because of the rating alone
Twilight I didnt ever think I would ever watch It ever , BUT I watched the first and had see what happends after that soo as the series keeps adding on I have finish the movies out lol. The movie shouldn't even be consider to be horror at all vampires and werewolves suposed to be scary and mean as shit to human world not happy and fighting over a women lol lol but Twilight isn't worst movie ever just needs stop adding on too it
I totally agree with u on twilight series not being that bad....it just has to have more stuff with it. You know like more thought on how to show the books in the movies and all. I think they just tried to go with guidelines they had with the books. Give more to the series and i bet it would do great.
I would only see this movie in order to amuse myself with the corny looking Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria. The books aren't too bad but the movies are a sham.
Nothing about this movie is original, except for that horrendous glowing attribute. This movie is like most vampires these days. Brooding, misunderstood teens that think they have it hard, and yet, are probably some of the luckiest people in the world. You can't sit there and say this movie is great, because, for one, it typical and cliche to the idea of vampires today. And I am all for imagination, considering I write every single damn day. I write horror stories, which are some of the most imaginative ideas around. This was Romeo and Juliet or some other romantic idea with vampires and werewolves put over it. What's the point if they don't act like them characters? It seems pointless to me. Vampires and werewolves are meant to be evil, not like this.
i have only seen the first twilight and i said that im never watching it again cause it so crap
i hate twilight its the worst movie i have ever seen, i no many people disagree but seriously its a peace of crap lol
This is gonna suck hard
They casted Jane well. I disagree and think this is much better than the hate it's getting here.
stop calling it a saga! >:( the only thing that this compares to is to an orgasm gone bad.
example:
Twilight: the arousal
New Moon: the self service
Eclipse: the climax
Breaking Dawn: the raccoon who thought the pusseh was a cave!
Lol This Made My Day
The new trailer looks awesome and David Slade did a great job! Can't wait
Now I am not going to say that I love or hate the films but folks please keep in mind they were never meant to be "horror" films. The story is watered down versions of what we consider vampires and werewolves because Stephanie did not want to make a mockery of herself. She is a member of the LDS church (Mormon for those that don't know what that is). She does not even watch R Rated films due to her religion. So do you expect more? She has already been ridiculed by the Church over the content in the books, saying that they promote premarital sex..LOL. So for what its worth, living in Utah myself, I can understand all of your positions on the the way these books are written...but please keep in mind that the book writer is not much more than a child in her mind as it is, due to the way she was raised, thus we have all the watered down BS. Just my 2 cents.
I understand and respect your idea, but she should of chose another path than vampires and werewolves, which in the original idea, were considered horror icons. Don't make these horror icons something they aren't. They're both blood thirsty fiends seen as devils and monsters, not brooding teenages with raging hormones. I'm not arguing, but just adding to respected statement.
I can understand and even respect that. I just don't understand for starters why this os on UHM, I mean "Vampires" and "Shapeshifters" are usually right down the horror flick alley but like you said, these aren't horror flicks. I'll admit it, I hate the movie, I sat through the first one because I figured I can't make comments either way if I don't at least watch it. And yeah, the Sparkly Vampire thing threw me but honestly I thought it was at least innovative. However the bad acting, slow pace and well I could go on but I won't. It wasn't so much the "idea" of Vamps and shapeshifters that annoyed me as much of how much the plot and everything else failed to deliver (to me at least). Not big on teen angst flicks myself. However My other question is why on earth if she's so sheltered and a religious person would she bother writing them? Didn't she expect some backlash? And honestly the Church is prob just upset that they didn't get a large cut from her enormous profits from the films lol. Honestly they obviously appeal to enough people so more power to her.
is this a joke?
these movies suck ass
First off im not assuming pal listen to the peoples arguments you know it to be true and you're one person so my argument still valid unless everyone wants to be spoken for... second off sure you have seen the movie have your opinion and leave it be. third if you knew anything about the folk lore then you would know more than your argument provides sure the wolves don't need to be muscular but when you see a movie aren't they all? and sure the vampires sparkle oh no god forbid someone changes the game for once everyone dances in these lines of expectation that's why nothing has been original in the past 10 to 15 years it might not be perfect but its still a new concept if and you say people have an expectation of bad ass everything but as you also said its an interpretation everyone is entitled to interpret them as they want and you say it doesn't make sense the vampires cant go out in the sun because they will be exposed and the wolves are shape shifters bet you didn't know that they can turn into anything they turn into the wolves because its all they know how to turn into so once agin up for discussion there goes your sound argument
who ever heard of a sparkly vampire looks more like a raver, werewolves should not look like steroid feed huskies and the only thing scary about the movie is spending $10 to see it
people these days are so closed minded im willing to bet not a single person here (minus the fans) have any idea that this whole series was written of of Stephanie Meyer's dream. and its on a horror website because of the theory of werewolves and vampires! shocking how much one can learn huh? people are so intimidated by change that they let it cloud their judgment, im a horror fan through and through... but i don't allow that to let me hate the first thing that comes into the genre with a different approach. im not saying go out of your way to watch the movie because everyone is entitled to their own opinion but people can have an opinion untill they have seen the movie.
First of all, you made the assumption that no one on this site besides the fans knew the origin of the books when you have no evidence to back this up. I'm well aware of why it was written and I still don't like the series, so there goes your first argument. And if Jacob is a "werewolf" and Edward is a "vampire", then they're watered down versions. The vampire/werewolf myth and folklore has been around for hundreds of years (something I'm sure you're aware of), so the reason people are used to thinking of them as badass, bloodthristy creatures of the night is because that's how they've always been interpreted. Only recently in books/TV/movies have we seen authors and story-tellers re-interpret these creatures. And I don't mind if authors retell or re-interpret the rules of a vampire or werewolf, but if the re-interpretation doesn't make sense, then it's going to bother people.
Egyptian lore explained vampires as demi-gods whos skin was mosaic in structure and sheen like plate glass. not sparkley.
..and unfortunately I know enough about the books that they aren't werewolves but shape-shifters that associate most with wolves- werewolves are mentioned as being a dying species last seen in Europe.
So... thats where this rubbish came from, real lore, modernized, by some teen-book thumping lonely fat chick who wants to bang dogs and vampires.
this looks terrible why would anyone watch a movie with vampires and werewolves that don't even act like they r suppose to
i like the cast
stupid gay movie. lame poster, lame story, lame cast
i agree with you all the way
Ah, twilight. Seems like you either love it or hate it. I have not seen any of the movie or read the books. But based on what I have heard, I don't want to. It just sounds like yet another "monster and human fall in a forbidden love" story for teens.
Anyway, another movie I won't be seeing.
of coarse its isn't sapposed to be scary its adapted from a children's novel. the posters suck why do they have to be so typical?
dunno...doesn't look scary. i guess it's not supposed to be but then why is it here?
Why the hell is this stupid movie on UHM, it isn't horror, more like a dark romance. But ugh, Twilight is pathetic i'm sick of hearing about it. F Twilight!
I'm looking forward to this a lot. Like I've said in other posts, there's no reason vampires have to be the same in every one of their movies (this goes for other familiar creatures as well). There's room for the Twilight-style vampires, the traditional gothic/Dracula vampires, the Underworld/Blood: The Last Vampire style and so on. Actually, there are so many different takes on vampires being done lately. Instead of obsessing over one or two movies that you don't like, give some of the other, less-known ones a chance. Blood: The Last Vampire didn't get nearly the audience it deserved, and I'm betting there are even people on here who haven't seen it yet. Or check out Dracula's Curse (2004), Thirst (aka Bakjwi), or go back a ways and try Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter. All really good movies, all very different from one another.
Except that all the other takes on vampires adhere to the same basic rules for vampires, namely they don't bang humans, and they burn in the sunlight.
FACE PALM
The vampire-human romance angle has been present in a lot of the tales over the years, including Underworld and various interpretations of Dracula. And not all vampires have been affected as drastically by sunlight. In the Coppola version of Bram Stoker's Dracula, the Count walks about London in the daylight, but is as vulnerable as a normal human in that state - his vampiric powers only function at night. In the Japanese manga series "Lament Of The Lamb" (a truly scary series, by the way), the vampires appear to be completely unaffected by sunlight. So there have been a lot of deviations from the basic 'rules' in different vampire stories or movies. Part of this is probably because all over the world different cultures and traditions have their own vampire-like legends, but the specifics sometimes vary quite a bit.
I do get your point, though, that Twilight is much more of a departure from tradition than usual. I just don't see that as a negative, any more than I see a story sticking very closely to the previously established traditions as having to be a negative.
Very nice. Couldn't have said it better myself.
And as for why is the Twilight on UHM, it's on here because it has to do with Vampires and Werewolves.
Two iconic figures in the horror genre.
And I believe the owner of UHM explained this before.
Either way, I totally creamed myself when I saw the trailer.
I love David Slade and I can't wait to see Eclipse =]
So good to see you people have no imagination so you harrass the only original movie idea out there Way to be
Yeah Twilight is sooooo original seeing as how the books are all loosely based on literary classics. Twilight is based on Pride and Prejudice, New Moon is based on Romeo & Juilet, Eclipse is based on Wuthering Heights, and Breaking Dawn is based on A Midsummer Night's Dream.
FACE PALM
Original as in not the same ole dull predictable vampires that are out for blood. And FYI a lot of vampire movies revolve around blood and sex and screwing humans. Soo......watch more movies or deal.
Yeah and a lot of those movies suck ball sack. I'm not saying that's the only reason Twilight sucks (Hell one of my favorite vampires, Cassidy from Preacher, drinks, does drugs, and bangs), the books are written terribly, the movies are acted horribly, Robert Pattison is a total chode, the list could go on.
I for one love vampire books and movies, if they are done right. But what Twilight has done to vampires is rape what they truly are and turned a lot of people off to vampires in general, which is upsetting because of all the lore and tales there are out there.
This movie is neither bad nor good to me. It's just a movie. Unfortunately, it puts a bad taste in many peoples mouths for the vampire theme because this is luke warm horror at best. I hate to be cliche but one of the better vampire movies which was commercial enough to get acknowledgement and due credit was Neil Jordan/Anne Rice's Interview With The Vampire. It had a love story that made sense in vampire language for it posed Claudia and Louis as eternal lovers despite the apparent physiological difference. It was to make a subtle point that these old souls were connected in eternal love despite the nature of their bodies.......
these are not real vampires me and all my friends call them fagit vampires
I agree...this series is no where near a horror movie for me...pure crap, 100% shit....i mean come on, sparkly vampires? really? hahahah
I don't find this to be much of a horror movie more a dark romance.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh TWILIGHT!!!!!!!
eclipse
cant wait for this to come out
youre a homo. wear a shirt you lanky bitch.
why iz this a hated movie !
i love the twilight series ! plus this comes out on my b-day !!!1
Because today's society, imo, is ignorant and close minded.
And they don't like anyting out of the norm and/or familiar.
I'm all about stating ones opinion, but this is pretty pathetic.
I mean, say what you gotta say and move on, really.
It's just a movie.
And saying that TWILIGHT and it's sparkly vampires is the reason why people now have a bad taste in peoples mouths is really pathetic.
It's a movie, based on a book, that someone wrote, who had their own idea about vampires *shrugs* Kudos to you Stephenie Meyers for thinking outside the box and using your imagination.
This is disgusting! So now we can just put female pornography in regular movie websites? Deplorable! First it happened with Pirates of the Carribean some how that bean flick fest was viewed by millions world wide and no one said anything. I'm not saying girls shouldn't be able to watch their porn in theaters, I'm just saying we know it's porn you're not fooling anyone.
Also I haven't read the books but the first movie was directed terribly (and that's saying something bad seeing as porn movies are usually directed horribly anyhow) So needless to say I'm not looking forward to this. I watched the original movie with Riff tracks playing but I could tell that there could be a decent story somewhere in there. But i'm far too lazy or uninspired to try with this series if I get roped in by the many females of my life into watching the complete deal and it picks up I'd throw a good review it's way.
D-E-P-P and not all of us watch that for the "Glitter Gaunt Guy" we watch it cos we enjoyed the books and were curious of how the films started. I liked twilight, I never really enjoyed New moon, but I endured it because I was curious but not all women watch cos we're sex crazed twits that believe in sparkly vampires. I enjoyed it because it's the first original movie that actually came out alright. And I'm all for the gorey vampires, but the industry is full of bad remakes now. So I am glad for a refreshing reboot on vampires and "werewolves" There's my carbon print
