PROJECT DETAILS

  • This was a bit of an ambitious project to begin with and it ran into a lot of bumps over the years, but it seems that the sudden death of director David R. Ellis might've finally put everything to a stop. No updates have been reported since and it's page on IMDB has even been removed. (7/11/15)
  • David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane, The Final Destination) replaces Kyle Newman (Fanboys) as director.
  • Filming was originally hoped to begin sometime in early '09.
  • The producers hope to have some surprise cameos from genre favs.
  • Veteran Hong Kong actor Sammo Hung is rumored to be playing  the Chinese dad, Mr. Ho, of one of the male leads. It's said to be a "laugh-out-loud fun, supporting role."
  • Kevin Munroe (TMNT CGI animated film) was once attached to direct.
  • It's said that the monkeys in the film will be a combination of real monkeys, animatronic puppets and CGI.
  • Described as being in the vein of Gremlins, but with monkeys.
  • Cleve Nettles wrote the script, based on a story by Dark Horse Indie producer Chris Patton.
  • This is a horror-action-comedy.
