PROJECT DETAILS
  • Originally had an August 10th 2012 theatrical release.
  • Analeigh Tipton is in negotiations to play "Nora," Teresa Palmer's best friend, who struggles with her budding emotions in a world infested by zombies.
  • Dave Franco is closing a deal to play "Perry Kelvin," Teresa Palmer's boyfriend, who gets over his initial fear of zombies and helps leads the human resistance.
  • Cory Hardrict is set to play "Kevin," one of Teresa Palmer's dorky friends, who serves as John Malkovich's right-hand man. He's a member of a enclave of humans who have enclosed themselves within a walled city known as the "Green Zone."
  • John Malkovich plays "General Grigio."
  • Actor/comedian Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine) plays a zombie called "R".
  • Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four, Take Me Home Tonight) plays the girlfriend.
  • Actor Nicholas Hoult is better known to British fans as "Tony" from the hit series Skins, but can also be seen in Clash of the Titans and the upcoming X-Men: First Class.
  • Writer/director Jonathan Levine also worked on All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and The Wackness.
  • Writer Isaac Marion spoke briefly on his take on an early draft he wrote for the film, saying: "The early draft I read employed a voiceover narration in the beginning to bring us up to speed on who R is and how his world works, then the VO gradually faded away as the film progressed, portraying R’s thoughts more through his body language and limited speech. I think narrations can be obnoxious if used clumsily or unnecessarily, but this one seems well integrated, and adds a sense of mood and style that I actually missed in the second half. Last I heard, the director agreed and was planning to work more of that into the second half to prevent it from doing that thing that so many Hollywood movies do, starting out full of wit and charm and gradually collapsing into action and spectacle in the third act."
  • This is a "zombie romancer".
  • Described in tone to be "similiar to Twilight meets Shaun of the Dead."
  • Author Isaac Marion originally self-published the novel and sold it through his website before the publishing rights were picked up by Atria Book.
  • Based on the book by Isaac Marion.
