The story tells of a fictional FIFA World Cup Finale between Germany and Netherlands. When the team from Germany loses, they send out a zombie invasion as revenge. A small group of friends flees from the nationwide madness to a North Sea island where a horde of Wehrmacht zombies wait.
After several financial upsets, in 2009 the filmmakers finally decided to abandon the project and move onto their next endeavor entitled Army of Frankenstein.
It's said that the biggest issue with the financing involved producers too scared to move forward with such an experimental project from first-time filmmakers.
A limited number of DVDs (now sold out) were sold on the official site in 2008 that contained the first promo, along with a making-of featurette and several unreleased stills.
