Renowned horror novelist Mike Enslin only believes what he can see with his own two eyes. After a string of bestsellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world, he scoffs at the concept of an afterlife. Enslin's phantom-free run of long and lonely nights is about to change forever when he checks into suite 1408 of the notorious Dolphin Hotel for his latest project, "Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms." Defying the warnings of the hotel manager, the author is the first person in years to stay in the reputedly haunted room. Another bestseller may be iminent, but like all Stephen King heroes, Enslin must go from skeptic to true believer – and ultimately survive the night.

This was one of the scariest films I've seen for ages. I think anyone who prefers pychological thrillers to slasher films will be grateful for this, as I was. It was directed well with phenomenal acting and will stay with me forever as one of my all time favourite films. Thank you Stephen King and Mikael Håfström.

Good movie. I haven't been impressed with much of what I have bought lately, but this was worth watching, as I will watch again, multiple times. Samuel Jackson is great, if anything, the film could have used him in it some more. John Cusack is very believable in his role. Great watch! 7 out of 10 Skulls in my opinion.

I saw this movie and loved it, stephen kings writing is often confused and he can't makeup his mind with a genre to stick to this movie is not essnetially horror or even remotely but this movie is a good character piece

There was nothing suspenceful, scary or even mildy mysterious about this film. How long can one author ride on the success of his past. One of the most boring horror movies I've seen. I agree, often with the reviews here at UHM--but not this one. Big waste of money in my book.

Even though the movie was rated pg-13 it was pretty freaky. I was impressed with how this movie turned out because I didn't expect it to be....such a good movie. John Cusack is amazing....and so is Samuel L. Jackson.

WOW! i went to see this movie with my mom and i was a little excited about it because i knew it was based on stephen kings writing and i personally love his books and his movies. (my personal favorite being pet sematary which i think is the scariest movie i have ever seen) and i really got into the movie. it genuinly freaked me out. the whole hotel thing made me kind of skeptical, but the movie didn't rely on cheap parlor tricks or just bumps and noises to get you to jump. it played off of things people are actually scared of, like being in small spaces, being locked in a room, heights, being alone...things like that. it also made me jump quit a few times and i was actually hesitant to look at the screen thinking something was going to pop out at any time. my only complaint about the movie, was that i thought it was over at 3 different parts. but overall i liked the ending and i would definatley buy this movie!
