2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys

After the sheriff refuses to cover up any further for the maniacs causing all the missing persons in the area, they're forced to hit the road in what's dubbed the "Pleasant Valley Traveling Road Show," where the maniacs head across country in hopes of gathering more victims. We'll follow a young TV crew called the "Road Rascals" as they find themselves mixed up with another one of the maniacs' deadly festivals.

It took some time, but Tim Sullivan finally got the funding he needed to move forward with the project and a third film entitled 2001 Maniacs: The Hellbillys Have Eyes.

6.06.07
In a recent interview with UHM, writer/director Tim Sullivan revealed that he hopes to finally begin filming mid-July. He also gave us some details on the new characters we'll see in the sequel...

"We will have Scarlet Red, the Mayor’s virginal young daughter; virginal, that is, not by choice, but thanks to the very unique chastity belt the mayor has designed for her, crafty devil that he is. In the film, Scarlet will be played by Amy Baniecki, whom female wrestling fans may know better as Cry Baby. And we also introduce Tony Todd character, Jim Crow, who joins Johnny Legend as the latest Strolling Minstrel and whose Haitian heritage and dealings with voodoo figures prominently in the bringing about the “curse”. Last but definitely not lest, there’s Doc Tickles, who will be played by Bill Moseley."

You can read more on the project and the 2001 Maniacs comic, which serves as a prequel to the films by clicking the link on your left. As some of you may be aware, due to a misunderstanding with a few overzealous security guards, Tim suffered injuries during the Driftwood premiere last October. Cival and criminal law suits have been filed.

Tony Toddy and Bill Moseley have been added to the cast. Filming is said to begin sometime in February. Thanks to horroryearbook.

8.24.06
I've updated the cast list, with a number of the lead maniacs from the previous film returning for the sequel.

8.02.06
Added to the database. Although I received the script back in May I was told not to reveal anything on the project until I was given the "okay". Well, I never got that "okay" and instead Fango was first to reveal details on the upcoming sequel. I can say that having read the script we're pretty much going to get the same kind of gore, sex, humor, and mayhem as we did with the first, which is a good thing. Eli Roth's Raw Nerve won't be working with Tim this time 'round and it's said that filming may begin this Fall.

- Going straight-to-DVD.
- Writer/director Tim Sullivan suffered injuries during the Driftwood premiere in October '06, involving a few overzealous security guards, which haulted pre-production of this film. Filming is said to finally begin mid-July '07.
- Actor Bill Moseley also supplies some songs that we'll hear in the film, one of which is called "Dirty Sperm Rag".
- Unlike the first film Raw Nerve will not be involved with the production.
- The film will follow the same formula that made the previous film so entertaining.
- The obvious sequel to 2001 Maniacs.
