Original director Danny Boyle (who now serves as executive producer) spoke recently with SciFi Wire about the film. Here's what he said: "It's got a very good idea in it. [The idea] is that ... Britain has been emptied. There's nobody there. It's completely dead. And six months later the Americans arrive to reboot it back up again." He also went on to say how he wont be directing and how the original cast are too busy to return for the sequel.

DETAILS:

- The original cast will not return.
- It's likely that original director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland will take producing roles alongside original producer, Andrew Macdonald.
- Rowan Joffe is in talks to write the script.
- Fox Searchlight is developing this.
- A sequel to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later.

Fast-pace and exciting I actually enjoyed it more on dvd because when I watched it in theater the running characters and shaky camera in the movie gave me headache. 8/10

Way to many plot holes in this movie, it was really annoying that they had to force the plot forward with unlikely scenarios and plot holes as deep as a ditch. Really some of the things that got into the plot were just idiotic.

The movie was great, played well off of the original, which is rapidly becoming a favorite for me with the neverending dredge of slasher/teenybop/runaway/bubblegum/don'tlooknow/pa rishilton/ boo!/wanna-be-scary crap puking onto your local theater screen lately. And Fred, "THEY WAS BASICALLY ZOMBIES"? Seriously? You talk like that?

For me, 28 Weeks Later is just another example of an otherwise great movie getting ruined by a terrible ending. All the greatness in the world can't save a movie if it's ultimate conclusion is unfulfilling, a problem that the original didn't have.
28 Days Later: 8/10
28 Weeks Later: 5/10

I liked 28 weeks cause of the way the survivors had to keep moving in order to make it to their ride on time, had two types of enemies who were both savage in their own ways, and the immunity that was shared between the mother and son which was an excellent element to add to this already perfect sequel

I find it wierd that this got into "must see" when the first didn't. Hell, I thought this movie was NOTHING ocmpared to the first. All this was was a giant chase scene. It was a good zombie movie on it's own, but just didn't compare as a sequel. My rating:
28 Days Later: 10/10.
28 Weeks Later: 7/10.
