The concept is no doubt unoriginal. Especially for horror, it is more difficult to create an original concept for this genre of horror.
With the added "supernatural destiny", and it being a character driven horror, it should have some original elements and possible fresh twists to the genre.
Granted, I yawn at the thought of these movies, but I try to be unbias. Given it's based on a spec-script, it could go in either direction: yawn or minty fresh.
