Although the previous report indicated that this was on the "fast track" it seems that things fell through at one point, and this project never took shape. Eli Roth now has a few other projects in development, so even if it were greenlit again, they'd either have to wait for his schedule to clear up or find another director.

According to a brief report on Dread Central, the project is on the fast track and director Eli Roth is just waiting to receive the draft (which is supposedly going to be finished soon) from writer Brian Nelson.

- There's talks that there will be more blood and a higher body count than the original.

- The original was actually based on a stage play.
- A remake of the 1956 horror film, which was also the first flick to have a child killer.

the original was so good and they already remade it once. i hope eli roth can do the bad seed justice if it actually happens.

I have the original and if Eli Roth is going to be the Director then you best believe that it will be well worth it. He's a great director that hasn't disappointed yet and since the film is such a classic he better not fail to do what we all expect.

Wow...the original is a classic that I have yet to see, but I really want to. I just hope they do it justice and not try to make it into something for the teenybopper masses. (i.e. make rhoda a teenage girl and cast Lindsay Lohan in her come-back role, or some crap.) This has potential, though, considering kids today are so afraid of any film made before the 1980's. That's kind of sad, really. They're missing out. But I digress. Dakota Fanning probably will be cast, considering the fact that they like to cast well-knowns these days, and what female child actor is more well known than Dakota?

I actually hope they make this, but only if they do it right. Good director and actress. I really don't care who plays Rhoda, but I think they need to cast someone good for the mother. You take the remake of the Omen for example. I liked everything about it but Julia Styles. Too young. Not enough emotion. Blah.

i love that movie with a passion and i love both hostels wich eli directed.and horror movies werent really scary until 1963 when hershal came out with blood feast .and remember if the remake sucks there is always the original bitches. and i will cry if they cast dakota fanning. i want to strangle her squeaky little neck!

1956 was more scary than whatever they could do now, leave these orginals as they were, don't screw with this like they did with the remake of The Omen, 1976 is the best than that piece of shit they made.
