Co-star Morris Chestnut spoke with SciFi Wire last week, and went over the film's plot and revealed some further details on the film. Here's what he said: "The basic plot is it's about these cave divers who go on this expedition in a cave ... several hundred miles under the ground, and we come across some type of aliens. I play one of the cave divers."

He continued: "I'm one of the people that lives at the end of the movie. I didn't read the script. I just said, 'Do I live at the end of the movie?' They said 'Yes.' So I said, 'Yes, I'll do it.' I don't even know what the movie's about, actually. It's not as special-effects-heavy as Anacondas, but it's very beautifully shot. We were on some great locations, and there are some great scenes in it."

When asked if he was the hero in the film, he replied: "No, I'm not the hero. If the black guy lives, he can't be the hero. That would be too much. You can't have so many things in one movie. You have to take baby steps."

You can find a handful of new pics for the film here.

Well it looks like the title went back from Prime Evil to The Cave. Also star Cole Hauser spoke with SciFi Wire recently about the film's story, saying: "It's about an underwater expedition with cave divers who go into the Carpathian mountains in northern Romania. They get inside the cave, and they go about a mile and a half in and about three miles underground, and one of my divers gets in a situation where he blows a scooter up—a scooter pulls you through the water while you swim—and basically the exit gets blocked, and it's about finding a way out."

He then went on to say... "It's scary. There’s a creature in the film, which I don't even think you need, because the rest of the film is so scary on its own. I mean, that just adds to the next element of trying to get out of this situation."

7/16/04
Added a few people to the cast. Also there's a rumored March 11th '05 release.

3/12/04
The title has changed from Cave to Prime Evil and I've added to the cast.

A scooper at Cinescape revealed a little info on the story, where it was revealed that the team of divers are exploring an underwater cave system in Eastern Europe and not in a major body of ocean and also that when the divers become trapped in the underwater caves they "find that something else is down there with them in the dark..."
