Cold & Dark

The story concerns vice squad Detective Sergeant John Dark (Goss), whose partner and mentor Detective Chief Inspector Mortimer Shade (Howarth) is believed murdered by an unknown assailant. However, just as Dark begins to run the killer down, Mort starts making a remarkably rapid recovery. When a series of bizarre underworld killings occur in which Dark and Mort’s major adversaries are taken out by mysterious bestial attacks, it becomes clear that Mort has transformed into something strange and otherworldly.

First Look Home Entertainment has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the film and plan to release the film on DVD sometime in June. You can check the trailer for the film by clicking the link on your left and view some new photos on your right.

I got some nice pics of a creature known as "The Grail" played by Dan Rose, who had to endure 6-hours of putting on the make-up and 12-hours in the suit itself (poor guy), but I'm sure it's worth it in the end. You can check'em to your right. The first pic is of Grail and lead actress Carly Turnbull; the next is a nice close-up grail without the eye-covers; and the last is him chillin' with the eye-covers on -- interesting difference. Hopefully more pics will be posted shortly.

I got an email from someone who worked with the SPFX department during pre-production, where he revealed what we can expect to see as far as effects go... "The film will include many dismembered corspes, silicone bodies, animatronic creatures and a gory finale, much akin in its vision to 'Se7en' . Animatronics will include a tenacled alien creature, gelatine appliances and lots of silicone bodyparts. Shooting started in November 03, with Luke Goss in the lead, who is a really genuine and humble guy, The fx team put together had previosuly worked on Blade II, Brothers Grim, Buddy and The Hours to name but a few." - Began six weeks of principal photography on November 18 at St. Agnes’ South West Film Studios and on location in Cornwall.
