| Six friends reunite after 20 years at a mutual childhood friend's funeral. A search through their deceased friend's house reveals a map to a time capsule they buried some twenty years earlier which spurs the friends to find it and dig it up. After uncovering the trunk, the unexpected is found ... the rotted remains of a child. A child from a past they've long forgotten, a child that begins to haunt their every waking moment and makes them question who they really are. The closer they come to remembering the circumstances of the mysterious child's death, the closer they come to their own reckoning. The memory that will eventually kill them one by one is the same memory they need to discover to stay alive. LATEST NEWS 10/28/07 Comments Page 1 of 1:
This was actually my favorite of the Horrorfest bunch. Not because of the swiss cheese hole filled plot, not because of the annoying, overbearing, and cheap halloween soundtrack, not because of the idiotic idea to give away the entire mystery in the first two retarded minutes of the film and not because of the abrupt and ignorant ending. What made it worth my 10 bucks was this, the acting was brilliant for not just a horror film but any film. Traci Lords got messy (great barf scene), Dina Meyer shows her haggard side, Frank Whaley is genuinely irritable. Gabrielle Anwar says more without saying a word than if she was given a ten minute monologue and the dude who played her brother rocked it. The look of the film scared the crap out of me, the old house, the lab, the set design was awesome. The dialogue was some of the best I've heard in a horror film in years. Finally characters that werent idiots. I HAVE TO BELIEVE that with such a respectable cast the script they signed on for was much different than what was directed and cut. The editing seemed to go from great to crap, the story seemed to do the same. I THINK THIS IS WHY WRITERS ARE STRIKING too many people screwing with their work. Whomever was in charge of this mess ought to be bitchslapped. You got a great cast, obviously talented DP and Set designer, what seemed to be a great story till it was messed reemed a new hole it didn't need - How could you "F" it up?
Saw this movie tonight and it was pretty bad. Creepy at times but it just lacked a coherent plot and even the scary scenes were brief and confusing as to what was happening. Not the worst of the bunch so far but if you're picking and choosing I'd try something else instead...
Finally, something that sounds somewhat original. I've faced the grim reality that today's film-makers look to old slasher flicks and Oriental horror for inspiration ( overly- hyped remakes). However this one sounds refreshing. As for the actors in this film, they're underrated. I've seen less talent in multi-million dollar budgeted movies. I'm looking forward to this.
To you Silver Moon: I wouldn't judge this film just because of a porn star cross over actress. No ones perfect... Traci owns up to what she did and I respect her for that. Plus the rest of the cast is great... Gabrille Anwar, George Newbern, Dina Meyer, and Frank Whaley which I love. I think this film is going to be great... It's in the "8 Films to Die For" I think that speaks for itself. Can't wait to see it!!!
I agree.. but, she did decent enough in Blade. I can't put much faith in any movie that has any porn stars in. Jenna and Ron are getting parts in some movies here and there and i refuse to watch them.
THIS FILM LOOKS ABSOLUTLY AMASING. I AM SURPRISED THAT ITS GOING TO DVD AND NOT GETING THE THEATRICLE RELIESE IT DESERVS. BUT THEN AGAIN THEY CAST A *** ING PORN STAR AS ONE OF THE CHARACTORS.PLEASE TELL ME THAT SHE IS THE FRIEND WHO DIES IN THE BEGINNING.
