This film looks great! but please,please,please, don't try to make a remake of it. Let it be as is!! Everytime the american film makers get a hold of a film, they screw it up so damn bad, that it's a waste of film & time!!!

OMG OMG OMG THEY FINALLY MADE A MOVIE OFF THE SHOW!!! The show was soooo creepy. The anime is called "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" or in english "When Cicadas Cry"...but i dunno why they named it Shrill Cries of Summer when the title is actually When Cicadas Cry.... And the show was pretty intense like a little girl putting a nife on the wall and then just raming her head into the nife i highly doubt their gonna do that scene but omg!

Oh, GREAT another Japanese crapfest!
God these movies are absolutely horrible, I swear, little girls with pale faces sliding on ceilings in shotty animation are NOT SCARY!!!
So, I don't see the use of making these movies if they're just going to be remade EVEN WORSE than they were made in the first place!!! These movies JUST NEED TO STAY IN JAPAN!!! Cause they are just NOT SCARY HERE!!!!

You can totally tell hollywood will remake this, only they will add in hot sexy young teenage super stars like rachel bilson or teresa palmer for the young girls. Then they will try to make it a slasher flick, they'll throw in a few cheap non interesting and completely laughable jump scares, followed by some added in really gory parts. Probably cast some teeny bopper heart throb like jensen ackles for the leading male. The mountain village will become a small bush town in the country and finally they will get some loser director/script writer who created a remake from another japanese film to be the master mind behind this film. And believe me, no matter how much they try, hollywood is NOT ever going to make an appropriate remake. Because they completely adapt it to what they THINK Western audiences want to see......another teen slasher........okay i maybe going a little overboard here BUT YOU TOTALLY GET WHERE IM COMING FROM.
