LATEST NEWS

1.17.08
A new "official" trailer has been released and can be viewed on your left.

12.29.07
It looks like the film is bypassing the supposed theatrical release and going straight to DVD via First Look Home Entertainment on April 8th. So far, you can expect a commentary track with writer Jeffrey Reddick, director Steve Miner and some of the cast members. An "Internet Only" trailer and alternate ending will also make an appearance. Take a look above for the DVD artwork.

6.20.07
The film is supposedly undergoing reshoots, with hopes of having it out theatrically for a Fall release. It's likely due to all the slack the film got when the unofficial trailer was released, plus the bad reviews it received during a screening, that they're trying to add additional sequences and spruce up some scenes. Thanks to AITH.

2.13.07
I've added some new behind-the-scenes pics of various zombies in the gallery. Thanks to Zombie-Nation.net.

10.27.06
The trailers section now hosts a link to view the horrible trailer for the film.

10.05.06
Take a look below for an awesome new behind-the-scenes close-up pic of a couple zombies.

9.13.06
Filming recently wrapped in Bulgaria and Fango got their hands on the first pics, which can be seen below.

8.24.06
Some early behind-the-scenes pics can be found here, where you get a sneak peek at the look of the zombies.

7.21.06
Fango spoke with writer Jeffrey Reddick about the film, where he revealed that Ving will be playing the "Captain Rhodes" character, while Mena Suvari plays "Sarah," and Nick Cannon plays "Salazar." These were all leading characters in the original. He also adds how this is a "re-imagining" a not necessarily a remake. Of course, we all know that the term "re-imagining" is just a smart way of saying that it's a remake, only with some different stuff added to it. The term is being used a lot now-a-days since Hollywood is afraid to admit that it's out of ideas.

7.12.06
The cast is set, including Ving Rhames who some speculate will play an updated version of the infamous zombie "Bub". Filming is said to begin July 23rd.

2.01.06
Scripter Jeffrey Reddick spoke with Coming Soon.net about his various projects, one of which was this film. In it he explains how this will be a seperate movie and not be a direct sequel to Dawn of the Dead (2004). Here's more of what he had to say: "We wanted to pay homage to the original with the military and the scientists and the socially relevant stuff that George Romero always does, but we wanted to put a fresh spin on it. There will be similarities, but there'll be differences as well that I think fans will hopefully dig. Steve Miner is directing, which I'm really excited about."

11.15.05
You can check a Land of the Dead DVD ripoff poster art for this film here, thanks to The Arrow.

11.03.05
Steve Miner has been set to direct the film.

This film was FAR BETTER that I thought it would be! It was certainly FAR BETTER than the original "Day of the Dead." So what if the zombies could climb walls????????? They ran AT MARATHON SPEEDS in the "Dawn of the Dead" remake. This was a stylish and highly entertaining film! Great job to director Steve Miner! My only complaint: Ving Rhames role was totally wasted!

Usually, I hate remakes, but I actually did somewhat enjoy the Dawn of the Dead remake, so I decided to give this one a try. After watching it, I must say, WTF was the producer/director/script writer thinking? In all fairness, I think they were trying to give us more of a town/army base tie in than the first movie did. (The first opening minutes of the 1985 Day of the Dead were the scariest to me with the shots of Fort Myers deserted and overwhelmed with the living dead). But when the zombies started doing gymnastics and the whole 'chemical/army mastermind' plan came down, I was disgusted. This could have been a decent stand alone movie, with no references to 'Bub' or 'Captain Rhodes' and should have been named something other than 'Day of the Dead'. (I was thinking more like "Attack of the Ninja Zombies" or "Return of the Gymnastic Corpses") Anyways, if you are a true fan of Romero and his zombie-verse, this movie will be a let-down; however, if you can separate yourself from the 'traditional vanilla' type zombie and like your zombies with a little more pep (think Return of the Bring It On Zombies), then this movie is for you.

The movie was a lot better than any uwe boll movie, but it did kinda suck. The only reason I watched it was because Ving Rhames showed in it. But it was stupid not making him the main character and dying in the beginning of the movie.

I am a very big Romero fan - I can stomach watching [good] remakes of movies. I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake - kept to the basic mall scenes which gave it the Romero touch and even had Tom Savini in it. However, Day of the Dead was a total yawn. I mean seriously when did zombies do gymnastics, drive cars or shoot guns. I know in Land of the Dead the lead zombie shot a gun but not perfect. This movie should have been made by the same director as Dawn of the Dead (Zack Snyder) to make it better.

I dont know why you people are saying that this movie is going to suck or is bad. I just watched it and it was pretty good. It didnt feel like a DEAD movie thow. It just felt like another genre of zombie movie. Some stuff was pretty annoying and the makeup was....ok. AND NICK CANNON is so FUCKING ANNOYING!!!!
