A new clip debuted online a few days ago and in case you missed it, you can check the link on your left.

1.28.08
If you think you'll be able to catch Diary of the Dead at your local theaters, you may have to wait a bit longer, as it appears it's only receiving a limited release, which will likely expand over time. In the mean time, if you wanna see if you're one of the lucky cities that'll get the flick, click here.

1.22.08
New poster above.

1.11.08
Feast your eyes on the trailer!

12.09.07
Rated R for "strong horror violence and gore, and pervasive language."

12.02.07
I've added a new clip that was originaly part of a Spanish news report. In it you'll see Romero speaking about the project (narrated in Spanish) and catch some new footage from the film.

11.06.07
The film has reportedly received a February '08 theatrical release.

9.13.07
The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received a lot of positive reviews from viewers, and to make things even better, The Weinstein Co. have purchased the US and Mexico distribution rights for a cool 2 to 2.5-million. No word yet as to what kind of release the film will get. Lastly, you can head to the trailers area (which is still being reworked) for a new clip of Romero speaking about the project.

9.10.07
Head over to the trailers area to find a couple clips to view some on-set interviews with the cast and crew.

1.04.07
You can check the first behind the scenes clip of the first week of shooting in the trailers area and I've added a few new pics below, courtesy of Fresh Visual.

11.09.06
You can check some promotional art above and some pics below, courtesy of BD.

10.20.06
I've updated the cast, while filming has recently begun in Toronto.

9.01.06
Added to the database.

DETAILS

- Filming is set to begin October 11 in Toronto.
- Budgeted at a little under $5-million.
- It's said that the film will likely be very Blair Witch-esque with footage primarily being seen through the eyes of a camcorder.
- This will be Romero going back to his low-budget roots, with the idea of possibly even releasing it straight-to-DVD, where he'll have more freedom to do what he wants.
- Produced by Romero-Grunwald Productions and Artfire Films.
- George A. Romero will write and direct this.

After seeing movies like Cloverfield & Rec. it was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! It's worse than his Land of the Dead, not even "good" enough like Day of the Dead remake, moreover I think 'The Zombie Diaries' was better than this diary!

okay i got around to watching it, his review was spot on, but still the review shouldnt put any1 off. it was really enjoyable and despite the plot holes it was still entertaining, which is part of why films exist, to entertain. but yeah the zombie death scenes were the best part, they're was a meaning behind it which is odd in zombie films and such a good use of irony in it.
whoever wrote the script needs to look into his stuff a bit more, tho the scripting in this film was much better than some other recent horror films (cough cough mother of tears). and george romero as a director did a great job and im proud of this. i just hope his new film solitary isle or woteva has some better scripting.

I thought it was a really good movie the only thing I didn't like was the way everyone jumped down the cameramans throat right in the beginning it seemed to rushed to yell at him and it just got to reptitive. It should've builded up more and not so in your face from the get go. That's my opinion.

I thought this movie sucked. The only part of the movie I liked was when they were shooting the mummy movie and and talking about why the monster has to be slow. An obvious reference to the new fast zombies.

If I'm gonna watch a POV film, I want it to look like one, not a regular flick, with horrible camera work, but that's just my opinion.

I really enjoyed it.
"Despite being shot in the POV of the camera, the footage itself is actually pretty clean and almost movie-quality, which kind of defeats the purpose."
The cameras they're using are digital, and the people filming are *film students* - of course it's going to be better quality than the Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield. I'm actually glad it's quite crisply done, because I go to the cinema to see a movie, not a collection of home videos.
Some of the acting wasn't fantastic, but it was compelling, and as the review states, it has some great deaths and even better zombies (the nurse zombie's cool, as is the clown). Far better than Land, and the remakes of Dawn and Day.
