During the 25th anniversary celebration for the Friday the 13th series, author of Crystal Lake Memories, Peter M. Bracke, revlead that another FvsJ film is next, but this time they'll include Michael Myers in the mix. Of course there is nothing official behind this; for all we know he could be just blurting out old rumors, but then again you never know. Read more here.

According to an interview with Robert Englund, the man himself wanted to swing by a couple ideas to the execs which would possibly bring a couple other horror icons in the mix. Of course the project isn't happening anymore, but it's an interesting read as to what he had in mind. Read it all here.

It looks like talk of another film has been silenced and from the looks of it, if a sequel does happen it wont be for a while (as previously stated).
LATEST NEWS
1/06/05
Despite all the early rumor-talk of another film, it looks as though it wont be happening anytime soon. Creature Corner spoke briefly with New Line Cinema's Toby Emmerich asking the status of FvsJ2 where he replied with "there are no plans for another Freddy Vs. Jason film right now". We all know a sequel will happen since the film was successful at the box office, pulling in $113-million world wide, with a budget of only $25-million. Either way, fans will have to wait once again for another film to surface. I just hope we wont have to wait 10 years like with the first movie.

There's a video interview with Robert Englund where he talks about the possibilities for the film. Check it here.

Latino Review posted an article recently talking with Evil Dead writer/director Sam Raimi about possibly bringing the Ash character into the FvsJ mix. In the article he stats that it won't happen and elaborated as to why it won't, saying: "I have great respect for those franchises. I didn't want to be in a position where I was protecting Ash, the character that I want to eventually make another movie with one day, protecting him and not allowing the director to do what he felt he had to do. I didn't want to be in a weird position like that. I have a great deal or respect for Sean Cunningham. I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. He made some classics. I just didn't think it was a winning great situation for anybody." You can read more about it here.

I thought I'd add this film to the UHM database since we all know it's gonna happen, it's just a matter of when, especially with New Line really backing up the idea of a sequel. With that being said, they are in talks with writer/direct Sam Raimi to try to get iconic horror-hero Ash from the Evil Dead series in the horror match-up. Personally I like the idea, because Ash is a badass character in my opinion, and he'd bring a lot of his own unique style to the film.
DETAILS
- The first movie to be added to UHM without having official word on it getting made.
- There were early talks of possibly adding Pinhead or Michael Myers in a sequel.
- Although not officially greenlit, New Line really wants a sequel to happen -- hoping to add another horror icon in the mix.
