Ginger Fitzgerald and her sister
Brigitte, travel for miles through bleak wilderness until they seek
refuge at a remote Trading Company outpost. Inside they discover a group
of God fearing, tormented men, terrorized by monstrous beasts that have
laid siege to the fort.

I've placed a new pic, which was found on a French site,
along with a synopsis, which was translated via CC....
In 1815, two young women -- Ginger Fitzgerald
and her sister Brigitte -- travelling by horseback, cross the dull plains
of Western Canada. They arrive at a devastated American Indian campsite
which is inhabited only by one old Indian who relays an enigmatic message:
"the boy should be killed, if not one of you will kill the other".
The two women find refuge in Fort Bailey, an isolated encampment, where
they find a group of terrified men. The fort is beseiged by monstrous
animals; the tension is raised when Ginger is wounded by a young boy
who starts to undergo a strange transformation. The two young women
understand they must solve the prophetic enigma of the old American
Indian before the change of Ginger is complete.

Looks like this prequel isn't getting a theatrical run in Canada like
original thought. It'll be going direct-to-video August 17th in canada.

posted some new pics for the film. They are also reporting that Ginger
Snaps III: The Beginning is a tentative title for the film. Since Ginger
Snaps Back was supposed to be the set title and there's no word on any
official title change, I'm keeping it as-is for now.

Depending on how well the sequel does at the Canadian box office the
prequel may or may not debut in theaters. It's said that the release
for this film may be April of '04. No
official release for the US debute. It will most likely go direct-to-video,
just like the first.

DETAILS
- Suppsedly set in the 1820's. Also since
the prequel takes place a century and a half (give or take a decade
or two) before Ginger and Brigitte's birth, the two actresses are obviously
playing different characters.
- It's said that Katharine Isabelle will be the lead in this film. The
other female lead will be Emily Perkins.
- Perkins and Isabelle will be making appearances in this film.
- This is the prequel to the first film set in the 18th century and
delving into the werewolves' histories.
