It looks like things are still moving along with the project, as Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, Masters of the Universe) is now attached as the new writer on the script, which has been worked on by a few people already, including director Todd Lincoln.

Comic-creator and upcoming director Todd Lincoln spoke briefly with Amazon, revealing that the script is done and he's ready to start shooting in a reported Spring '07. He also goes on to say the following: "The film will stay true to the style, heart and voice of the comics. Fans are absolutely going to get the Cassie and Vlad they know and love. Tonally, the movie is much more grounded and serious than the comic. There’s a sprinkling of humor to balance the scares, but this will be a lean, vicious, blood-soaked, Hard R fright fest. The goal is to create the ultimate slasher film. Not just a love letter to slasher films, but a film that reconstructs, reinvigorates and elevates the genre."

Wow, what a rush to hear about such an appealing movie!!! I seriously need to find these Comic Books cause this movie/comic book series sounds too AWESOME TO BE TRUE!!!
I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! There doesn't seem like there's ANY WAY to screw this movie up!!! Even if the acting is sub-par, the gore is over or underated, or the script blows, the originality of this movie will shine through even the darkest corners.
Now writers, this doesn't mean you can slack off and just THINK that it's going to be great...you still have to work your little hienie's off to make this an exceptionally good movie!!! There's only middle ground here, which in any case means that the only way to go is up and I hope this movie will go all the way to the top!

Cassie Hack was a young child abused by children at her school. Her mother was a lunch lady who went insane and killed all of the kids who made fun of Cassie, and she then serves thier dead grinded up bodies as mystery meat at thier school. When the police found out that the lunch lady was killing the kids, she killed herself by dunking her head into a pot of boiling chili. When her body returns to kill more, Cassie hack destroys her mom.
Cassie then grows up and becomes a slayer of "slashers"
during the comics she fights Chucky, Jason, and other killers made up in the comic book, she also works with her friend vlad
I love this comic book, but i dont think it would be a good movie.
Now I could care less about who the FUCK plays Jason because no matter who they get he's still just gonna be a sociopathic retard that doesn't do anything but kill!!!
Robert Englund I DO care about! Because unlike Jason he has a certain style about him. Since it HAS been confirmed that he is noT doing the remake...my choice for who they'll get is either a stuntman, Johnny Depp(it was his first movie) and just as a thought, if Heath Ledger wouldn't have killed himself he could've been Freddy too!! Have you seen him as the Joker in the new Batman movie, he looks FUCKING WICKED!!! JUST A LITTLE FREDDY STYLE AND HE WOULD'VE BEEN PERFECT!!! BUT OF COURSE THE IGNORANT BASTARD KILLED HIMSELF SO THAT DREAM WAS CRUSHED!!!
It's an original idea, and I'm very excited about it.
