The Haunting in Connecticut

The story follows a family who are forced to relocate near a clinic where their teenage son was being treated for cancer. The family begins experiencing violent, supernatural events that the parents first blame on stress from the illness, but they later discover that their new home is a former mortuary with a dark past.

Well, after a year-and-a-half it looks like things are finally moving for the project. Virginia Madsen (Candyman) is the first actress revealed to star in the film, which is said to begin shooting this summer.

DETAILS

- Currently filming in Winnipeg, Canada.
- Produced by Paul Brooks, Andrew Trapani, and Wendy Rhoads.
- Written by Tim Metcalfe and Adam Simon.
- Originally had the same title as the documentary A Haunting in Connecticut, but the "A" was dropped to avoid confusion with the two films.
- Based on a supposedly true story that was featured in a book called "In a Dark Place" by Ray Garton, and was also turned into a made-for-TV documentary film on the Discovery Channel.

The house is NOT on Carter Lane, but another street..How do I know..I lived there during this ordeal.Would the family agree to the making of this movie, without a doubt!Money has always been there motive.Look at old "A Current Affair" tapes with Maury Povich and you will agree.I've put this trauma behind me..enough said.

I have seen the documentary and it seemed unreal. However I do believe in paranormal activity. I can't wait to see the movie!

I agree with Haskel, I sen this one on discovery and the way discovery produced it was really creepy. Especialy the guy who played the demon. I sure hope they do not try to dramatize it too uch and ruin what discovery had done. Should be an awesome movie.

From what I've read of, and the program that I've seen (same name) on TLC. This case of haunting and possession seems to be hard to dispute. Amityville was a "let's make money from the tragedy that occurred here" and nothing more. At least this one and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" have a basis in possiblity.

The name of the book is "in A Dark Place" by Ray Garton. I own a copy of the book, and it is amazingly dark and (if true) a horible ordeal for this family. Makes the Ammityville Horror look like Sesame street.

This IS TRUE. I am from Southington, Connecticut - the town where this happened. The house is there, its on Carter Lane. It for sure used to be a morgue, and this for sure happened to the people living there about 10-15 years ago. The local library down the street has one of the last copies ever of the book written about the house, and they keep it under lock and key!

Now is this based on the actually Haunting in Connecticut. A Haunting, which is a television show that tells the story of an actually haunting told this story awhile ago. I believe it was their first ever episode. But I can imagine the family agreeing to something like this.
