We always have the same comments about remakes when often the original subject itself is lost. We can not even get the original creatures color right. He was not the ugliest and brightest green on earth. He was quite beautiful when you think about it. He was not sex crazed and seduced by a human female, just taken in by total curiosity for an outside world beauty and had to take it for himself.

Ok everyone, I am not a fan of remakes myself and I'll be honest that some of them were good. But lets keep in mind that this movie is being released by Universal, who is the releasers of the original. So its not as if some high budgeted movie company is picking this up and turning it into crap. Universal is going to be releasing and I'm hoping that they stay true to the original. We can only hope!

I am a true fan of the movie Creature From The Black Lagoon, if I could I would love even a small part in it. Since I was little I thought the ideal and creation of the movie was ahead of it time, especial black and white movies. I am praying the movie culture today - appreciales orignality

I love the old black and white movies. The classic horror movies like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, and The Creature From the Black Lagoon are my childhood heros as far as what a monster really is. Freddy, Jason, and Miguel follow these Legend of Horror, but nowadays, remaking classic horror movies is nothing more than a joke and a way for Hollywood to get money. I like the Dracula and Frankenstein remakes back in the 90's. The stuck with the classic story and look but still managed to updated it and make them fresh for the modern times. Now with rehash version of the classic Elm Street, Halloween, Friday 13th, and Hellraiser getting dumped on fans head and excepted to just like them just because of the name recognition, I am sadly, among the growing number of fans that are just avoiding messes like this and just wander around the horror section at my locate BlockBuster or Hollywood Videoes and see what movies look decent and gamble on them instead of butchered versions of my beloved classic monsters.

Who would want to remake It? The original was the best, I think that Hollywood is getting desperate, and have just decided to start remaking classic films. What next, a remake of Bela Lugosi's Dracula, or Boris Karloff's Frankenstein, or maybe evenn Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space!!!

I also worry about remaking such a classic film. Although some remakes have not been bad films - 1999 version of The Mummy was entertaining enough and Jackson's revisioning of King Kong, though overlong, was a technical feat - I generally cringe whenever hearing about such projects. Yes, it will probably fall back on that modern crutch of overdone CGI and possibly gore. I personally am disappointed in the final choice of director. Del Toro would have been a much better route.

couldn't agree with you more, Lance. I have all 3 originals and love them, and with the way "horror" movies are now, I'd hate to see it ruined. Pathetic. What have hollywood director's come too?

I've been waiting to see if they were ever going to re-make the old creature flick but i'm afraid we're going to see the normal re-make from modern directors who have no idea how to scare the fans anymore. This is a great skill that's sadly been replaced by "if ya don't know how to scare them you can always gross them out with a good shocking bludgeoning of some children (which appears to becoming more common these days), tons of non-stop cussing and then throw in a few XXX sex scenes to cover-up the fact that they were at a loss of creativity within the actual horror aspect of their own movie so they will rely on selling you sex & Presto...you have yourself a modernized movie!"
