It looks as though all the negative buzz around the flick (including my review here) didn't help it get a wider theatrical release. Instead, it'll be premiering on the SciFi Channel in March.

You can view the new poster above, and the trailer to your left. Echo Bridge Entertainment is giving this a theatrical run on January 13th at six Fresno, CA locations. Depending on the gross the theatrical release gets, it may go wider before it hits DVD later this year. In the mean time Germany is getting it on DVD in the upcoming weeks. You can view new stills from the DVD here.

Denise Crosby (Pet Sematary) is set as the female lead. She plays the mother, who apparently gets a lease with an option to buy this mortuary, and decides to go into business for herself.

Scripter Adam Gierasch contacted Fango about the film, saying... "Its not not a zombie movie, but it isnt a zombie movie in the traditional sense of the word either. There are zombies in it, but its based more on the Cthulhu mythos. Its a Lovecraftian horror tale, based on his writings but not any specific story. Its about a family whose dad buys a cemetery/mortuary in Arkham, Massachusetts, and spooky hijinx ensue." His statement's confusing enough for me to keep the film still under the Zombie category for now.
Gierasch then added... "Theres a wonderful company called Captive Audience [run by Greg Cannom and Keith Vanderlaan, which did the FX for THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST among others] thats co-producing the movie and doing all the FX for usand there are a lot of them. Evan Katz [writer/producer of the indie shocker HOME SICK, coming soon from Synapse Films] is a producer on it also. Its going to be shot by Steve Yedlin, who did TOOLBOX and MAY. There are so many FX, its so high in both special makeup and digital FX, that all that has to be planned before we ever think about casting."
