- This project is in the very early stages of development, as a script has yet to be written.
- Plans are to hire a writer once the strrike finally ends.
- It's unlikely that Robert Englund will return as "Freddy Krueger," since Platinum Dunes is attempting to "re-invent" the series and start fresh.
- Once again this is a "re-imagining" of the original film, with hopes of giving the story a complete "overhaul."
- Platinum Dunes (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, Friday the 13th remake) is behind this.
- The franchise was also turned into a television series that ran for two seasons from 1988 to 1990, where Freddy played host to a collection of strange tales.
- The original film spawned seven sequels, including Freddy vs. Jason in 2003.
- No relation to the Nightmare on Elm St. prequel that's supposedly "in talks" right now, although, I wouldn't be surprised if the two projects blended together.
- A remake of the original 1984 Wes Craven film starring Robert Englund as the iconic Freddy Krueger.

SK the only person who needs to know your own personal business is you...as long as your happy with the way things turned out, then you don't need to explain your feelings over the situation to anyone! I just learned that this week, and it is a hard lesson to take when you really need to talk about drama but as long as everythings going smooth for you and your son is the main thing! And speaking of putting your personal business on the net...websites, and myspaces are one thing but emails are a whole nother! You have a crazed sex hound on your tail, I forget which page on here but a "Hard on" is onto you and giving out REALLY personal info like that could give the creep a right to find you and hack into your computer! I don't want to see you get hurt by the kind of crap...

ALL japanese horror films suck!!! It's just like rap, some people like em but most can't stand em!!! Like me!
I condone about three of the remakes happening at this point, but I feel the rest are just going to be suckish! Like this one matter of fact!
