I was a bit skeptical at first, but it seems that the project is indeed happening, as writer/director Adam Gierasch spoke with Fango recently about the potential film, where he promises that it'll be true to the original, while also being "more extreme and more nasty."

- Not much is known about the project except it'll be a modern take on the first film, but also still offer the same stuff we saw in the original, I.E. blood, guts, breasts, demons, etc..
- Reportedly written by Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson (duo behind Mother of Tears: The Third Mother, Autopsy).
- A remake of the original 1988 film.

A remake might not be to bad, you see kids all the time say "I dont want to see that, its to old." This will be a chance for this generation to see what our movies were all about, everybody knows that this will not be as good, but the least we could do as demons fans is give it a chance. I own all 3 on dvd I am a huge fan it might not be bad.

Honestly, just because a remake might be coming out doesn't mean that the original is going to change in any way. If anything they're probably going to rerelease it on dvd with extra content. If you're down for some film-bashing, why not focus on a remake that's already been released?

Nothing will ever top the original NotD and NotD2. They're my absolute favorite horror movies of all time, and have been since I was 6 (I'm 22 now)... However, I am absolutely thrilled at the idea of a remake. In fact, I've been hoping for one for years... Let's face it, more Demons is better than no new Demons, and a remake is probably going to be better than another crappy sequel like the third film in the series... If done properly, the remake could be amazing and could immerse a hole new generation into the NotD universe, leading them to check out the awesome classics they're sure to appreciate.
That's my take.
I can't wait.. Hope they end up making it.

You're looking forward to this one?! Um.....wow. These remakes of 80's horror classics need to cease to exist. Even the ones from the 70's. I for one am just appalled with the horror movies Hollywood is puking our way these days. STOP REMAKING THINGS THAT DON'T NEED TO BE TOUCHED!!!!! I am sick of CGI. We want real FX!! Seriously.... I guess all we have to turn to is the more independent films. Oh well

I'm looking forward to this one. The Orginal one is a fuckin masterpiece, but it does need a little retouch. I'm looking forward to see how they could retouch it. I think they should cast Alexz Johnson as the lead, Judy, because she could pull it off. I watch the movie and i see how running around.

I think its awesome there doing a remake. I want to see what they can bring to it. i agree the old one is a masterpiece. but when it came to part 3 they kinda blew it i mean i liked it but yet i didnt. i have the whole set on dvd. im excited bout seeing another one made. specially udating it making it more our style. older angela is great but id love to see who theyll cas tas all the charcters . If any remake was a disaster was the new halloween .

Remakes need to stop. It's obvious that Hollywood has ran out of ideas. Every movie coming out, is either a remake, prequel, or sequel. The original Night Of The Demons was excellent and doesn't need a remake.
