Writer/Director Mick Garris talked with SciFi Wire about the film. Here are some snipits from the article: "My whole intent on this film was to marry the two sides of Stephen King that we're all familiar with. The scary ghost-story side and the nostalgic-drama-Stand-by-Me side. All of the books do it, and damn few of the movies do. The studios, they wanted one or the other. They didn't understand the idea of both."
He then went on to speak about what the Studio thought of the project: "They liked the idea of Stephen King, but even when they liked the movie, they found it a tough sell because it's not Dawn of the Dead. It's not a Texas Chainsaw remake. Something like that. It's a kinder, gentler horror film that really goes as much for the heart as well as the jugular. There's a little bit of blood in it, but not as much as they would want from what they would want to sell as a horror movie. ... It's a smaller, intimate kind of film. But if it works, you'll leave with something more than having jumped." Read more here.

Star Erika Christensen talked with SciFi
Wire recently about the film, saying...
"The story is actually like a hitchhiking-across-the-country,
road-trip kind of story. In my mind it's about appreciating life and
being open to loving people and, of course, there's a lot of really
weird stuff that happens in between. It doesn't get really gory, but
it gets really freaky. I actually steer clear of all the freaky stuff.
My character is a really open, bright, loving person, and Jonathan Jackson
plays her boyfriend, who is really closed and dark. And she tries to
open him up."
