No official plot yet, but the original told the story of a young couple, who move into a New York apartment, where the woman becomes mysteriously pregnant, and soon discovers that her neighbors are a part of a coven of witches and her husband has allowed her to be impregnated by the devil in exchange for a successful career.

DETAILS

- This project is currently in the "talking stages," so it may not actually happen for quite some time, especially since a writer is yet to be hired.
- Platinum Dunes plans to be very careful with how they approach the remake, since the original was such a classic film and a "jewel" in the Paramount library.
- Paramount will team up with Platinum Dunes (The Hitcher '07, Friday the 13th remake, The Birds remake) for this project.
- The original film was based on the best-selling novel by author Ira Levin.
- The obvious remake of the 1968 Roman Polanski film.

OH COME ON HOLLYWOOD! Stop with the rehashing of classics! This movie is one of the few movies that really scaried the shit out of me when I first saw it. You CAN'T possibly remake this?!?! If this movie is such a "jewel" DON'T FUCKING TOUCH IT! Hell, why not do a remake of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE! Or THE GODFATHER! Better yet STAR WARS. . . never mind that last movie. You see my point!

I think this could be a great remake if they would pick THEE prefect people to play the parts. The original is pretty much flawless and nothing will ever beat it but sometimes remakes are just as good or better. We'll just have to see.

Goddamn! This makes me sick. The only acceptable argument for a remake is to improve on the original and I don't see how that skank Lindsay Lohan is an improvement over Mia Farrow, who played the part of Rosemarry to perfection. And besides, the original was almost scene-for-scene and word-for-word true to Ira Levin's novel which is very rare in Hollywood, I doubt that any remake will be so true to the novel no matter who plays in it.

Lindsey Lohan? Part of what drove the pathos of the original movie was the innocence of Mia Farrow.
