Santa's Slay

Santa (Goldberg) is actually Satan, who 1,000 years ago lost a curling match to an angel. For a millennia, Satan/Santa had to be a good, giving and jolly fellow. But now the bet, and Santa’s good cheer are over as the ruler of hell has a naughty list and he aims to fill it. It will suddenly dawn on police what the once beloved Santa’s modus operandi is when the map in their mock station is filled with dozens of coloured tacks indicating crime scenes. As the bodies pile up, they realize the pins on the map are taking on the shape of a Christmas tree, giving authorities a clue as to where the naughty elf will strike next.

LATEST NEWS

10/24/05
Spike TV finally got off their ass and released info on its television premiere. According to the site it'll show tomorrow at 9 PM and again on Saturday the 29th at 7 PM.

10/20/05
The film was said to originally air on Spike TV, but now it looks like it'll make its premiere on DVD in December. Check above for the DVD art.

8/29/05
The film will be getting it's premiere on the Spike TV channel sometime in the Fall, then go immediately direct-to-video shortly after.

11/18/04
Actress Emilie de Ravin spoke briefly with SciFi Wire about her role in the film, saying: "I play Mac, who's a high school student. My friend Nicholas [Douglas Smith] and I pretty much save the day in the movie, or at least we're trying to. It turns out that Nick's grandpa [Robert Culp] was actually the angel, and he gave up his eternal life to marry his wife. And all is being revealed now because Nick has found the Book of Claus, which is pretty much the book of secrets to do with what actually happened. So he's back, and now we're trying to save the day and kill Santa. It was fun playing high school again [as she had on The WB's Roswell] and being the kids on the run."

Added a few new pics and poster art, which were all found here.

7/01/04
I was sent some set pics and some art for the film. The set pics were taken back when it was filming at Wetaskiwin in late February. You can check the pics on your right. The first is a side-shot of a Hell's police car; the second is of "Hell Bank". You can also check some articles on the filming here, here, here, and lastly here. Thanks to "Pam" from HLA.

6/08/04
You can check some behind-the-scenes photos of Bill in his Santa getup here. Thanks to "Matthew".

4/07/04
The first photos for the film have popped up on the official Bill Goldberg website. You can check'em to your right.

3/22/04
The film has begun principal photography. I've added more to the cast. Producer Brett Ratner was quoted saying "Santa's Slay is one of the most innovative, freshest scripts I've read in the horror genre. It contains mythology, suspense, and humor. There is no one better than David Steiman, the creative mind behind Santa's Slay, to bring this exciting project to the screen."

1/23/04
The movie is preparing to film in Alberta's Wetaskiwin historic Main Street, because the Wetaskiwin Times has posted a little article on it where they revealed a little info on the film and more from the plot (posted above). Apparantly the crew are
transforming parts of the downtown into various businesses, including a bistro, and converting the front of the Montgomery building into a clothing store. Crews will set the stage for five days of shooting expected to commence Feb. 9. Eric Rebalkin, of the Alberta Film Association was quoted saying... "The producer thought Wetaskiwin had a real eastern U.S. town look to it." Thanks to Miss Lyric.
